A heads up from the NZ club. I just found that a large number of the local members have switched to the R32/R33 Skyline PTU, a bulletproof unit that works extremely well. Also, they all recommend relocating from the current position, up to near the intake or to the firewall or guard, to minimise heat. I dunno how many R32s you guys have there, but we have wreckers yards full of 'em here, and bits are cheap - 25% of the Z price.

Can a faulty PTU cause sporadic and intermittant misfire issues? Or does it generally stop the car, like my last faulty PTU?

D'oh! Oh well, was news to me, lol! Can the PTU cause the symptoms I mentioned? Sporadic loss of cylinder? Done the injector clean, haven't done plugs - my mechanic is blaming the PTU so thought I should deal with that first.

One day I'll be a wise Z-er.
