I just bought a Black 2010 and need to get the tint done ASAP!!

Im in AZ, anybody know any good, cheap places to go in AZ?

Also, what is a good VLT%? I see a lot of people using 35% and some using 20%. What to you prefer?

Anyone with a Black V have pics of their tint? Post if you can.

Thanks!

Tint was the first thing that I did to my car. It definitely makes it look a lot better. Also getting some lowering springs also improves the look!

I have 30% tint all around my car (35% is the legal tint here in Oregon). Not sure what it is in AZ.

Pictures aren't great, but I hope they help. Let me know if there is anything else I can do for you.

I haven't gotten my V tinted yet (still talking the wife into that one, since it's technically "her" car ) but I had 20% on my '04 Cavalier coupe and 35% on my '07 Altima and I liked the 35% better. The darker tint looks nice, but it's just that much more difficult to see things while backing up at night.

ya that looks nice.... Im wondering if 20% in the front would be too dark tho. I think for sure 20% in the back and back sides. I just need to see it in real life i guess.

Thanks for the posts!

AZ DOT doesn't allow under 33% according to window tint dot com. That means you shouldn't go less than 35%.

im in az i did 5% on back and back side windows and did 20% on the front windows. I used to have 2% on all my windows on my old car but i got pulled over like a year later. So i went with 20% on the fronts and haven't had any prolbems. City cops really dont car its the DPS motorcycle cops that care. seems like for me anyways

oh and i went to Sainz Tint on thomas and 27th ave but i wouldn't recommend going there. Two weeks after i got them done i got little air bubbles in all my windows and I am still trying to get ahold of them so they can fix it. They have like 15+ great reviews on google but i am having a unlucky experience with them.

I'm in GA but I noticed that our Best Buy Auto does tint jobs now, maybe they do it at yours?

You can't just necessarily just tint your car according to what you would prefer. You can if you want tickets but why bother with the risk? I tinted mine as dark as legally allowed here. I've gotten a ticket before with my old car because it was too dark and the ticket costed as much as a tint job. And that was actually after being pulled over a 2nd time for it. First time, I was let go. And it wasn't even that dark. Had 35% on the front but legal here on front windows is higher than that. If you decide to do whatever VLT you want though, I've noticed that down to 20% VLT, the visibility from inside the car seems the same. My versa is 50% front, 35% back windows, 20% rear windshield and from the inside, I can see just as easily through the front glass as through the rear windshield. So 20% is good for visibility but is pretty dark from the outside. I can't see into the rear windshield unless it's in sunlight.

I have 5% but it's illegal so if you wanna go the safe route, I'd say get 20%.

35% on the front two windows, and 18% on the rest. The front two windows have to be no less then 35% to be legal. You can get pulled over at anytime and the officer will hang a device on the window to check the amount of light that goes through. All the other windows can be painted with black paint if you want and still be legal.

I am doing mine tonight. I have 2.5% but I am still debating on whether to do the passenger and driver side windows. I have been pulled over before for doing those. Here in Ohio they do not care about the back window or back seat windows.

I just do my own. It is so easy! If you get a bubble that won't come out you can redo it 10 times before you pay the price for someone else doing it.

To those who are trying to be legal remember that the windows do have tint on them already. I am not sure what % but say your limit is 20% and you think putting 20% on is legal... It is not because they are already tinted.

they have a UV blocking strip inside the window which gives it a green tint. no tint is applied in the Versa from Nissan.

You know that it is not as transparent as a normal piece of glass. If you put a tester on it I bet it is 80%.

No tint but green "tint"

call it what you want. tint in my mind means it's darker than normal. just trying to not confuse people.

I know what you mean. I was messing with ya. I am glad you made that post. It clarifies things then I was able to expand on it.

But, yeah the point is if you put a tint tester up to it it is going to read something higher than 0% and people should take that into consideration if they are law abiding citizens.

I've never had tint put on any cars that I've owned. Does the darker (black) tints make the interior of the car hotter? I'm thinking black absorbs sunlight and thus transfers it to the interior of the car. Just wondering.
