Timing belts?

Have a 120,000 on the G. It's time to change the timing chains. I have done chevy V8's Nissan/pickup V6. Can I do one of theses? Jet

Probably. Download a copy of the FSM and it'll show you step by step.

Why are you changing your timing chain? there is no need to unless you can hear serious SLOP or one of the tensioners is going bad.

Most people will never need to change out the timing chain. EVER.

Changing them isn't super bad. I've removed them on engine rebuilds but It isn't necessary unless they have too much tolerance and are really worn.

^^^ would they start pinging really bad like when my tensioner went south??Is there some symptom to look/listen for??
