Thinkware Dash cam from BestBuy.

Discussion of Infiniti's amazing (and underrated) sport-luxury crossovers, the EX35 and EX37. For 2014, the EX series will be renamed QX50, in line with Ininfiit's new naming conventions.

So I finally pulled the trigger to get a Dash cam for the EX35. I only bought the cheapest one which is the H50 720p HD.

This is the cheapest , good quality unit that has Parking mode. Parking mode only works if you buy the Thinkware Hardwire kit for an extra $20 at Bestbuy too. You only wedge 2 wires to your mini fuse and one wire for the ground. Very simple to install. The EX35 also has a nice area where you can route the wires from behind the rearview mirror down to the driver side kick panel box.

The Parking mode is great for survelliance purpose. The night mode is soso since you need to have a good street light (preferably less yellow) and HID headlight is a must since the dash cam lens sensor sees white light better than incandescent. You can also set the voltage the dash cam to stop working during parking mode so you wont drain your car's battery.

For $70 and $20 for the hardwire kit, it is worth it!
I will post some pictures tonight.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bOdbiTlIAwc HID headlights are better with this dash cam unit when use at night vs a standard bulb halogen light. Maybe get a better Wattage Halogen bulb might help. 720p video available.

Also, if you have a budget the Thinkware x500 is on sale at Sam's club for $250. This is a front and rear camera both 1080p and both has parking mode.
That includes $99 worth of rear view camera and $30 32 Gig mini sd card.
You can also buy 3 year warranty for it at Sams club.

If you need to use the parkng mode just buy the hard wire kit at bestbuy for $30.

The X500 dual cam (front&rear) is on sale at Sam's Club http://m.samsclub.com/ip/tw-x500d-bundl ... od18360227

I had to black it out with Sharpie and electrical tape in some areas so it wont be obvious from the outside.

I bought a e-prance from amazon , opened the box 30 days later , pluged it in and it started smoking , no good , could not return it because of the 30 return policy

Then I learned about service vehicle dashboard cameras and found much much better ones with that search

Thinkware is a Taiwan based company and the dash cam units are made in Korea.
Bestbuy just recently start selling these a few weeks ago. The company is very popular in Singapore and Canada.

I have been researching dash cams for a fee months now and this one feels right. Chinese dash cam quality is lacking right now that is why I went and bought this.

So far Thinkware H50 is the only Dash cam that has capacitor, Parking mode for less than $100...
Most of the Dash cam on the link above with price range of $100 or less do not have a Parking mode and tiny battery operated.

Thanks for the links ArticBlue!

Here is my Thinkware X500 for the Q40. Vinyl wrapped on the silver area.

I just had a spot light lighting the front, with just a normal outside light, the camera is not very obvious specially with the Q40 tint. (Bottom of rearview mirror is an Escort 9500IX with blendmount and tapwire)
