The FBI began investigating the cash withdrawals in 2013. According to the indictment, agents were interested in whether Hastert was using the cash "for a criminal purpose" but were also investigating the possibility that Hastert "was the victim of a criminal extortion related to, among other matters, his prior positions in government."

Howie. You gotta be living under a rock not to know "family values" and politics is an oxymoron. And while Republican politicians might be able to lay claim to being first in that particular hypocrisy sweepstakes, they certainly do not hold a monopoly on sleaze or hypocrisy in general. Democrat politicians can be just as awful as Republicans. I think you need to find a better topic than trying to argue one party is sleazier than the other.
