Post

so i decided to come say hello as i assume i will need help when wrench day rolls around. im currently the owner of a 1985 nissan 720 motorhome, 5 speed, z24. the engine was replaced around 35000km ago as was the transmission. its got recent paint and almost no rust. dualies in back. 2wd(yeah i wish it was 4x4). also has extra leafs added to suspension. the motorhome part is in excellent shape also. i have all receipts from new, including the old school computer punch card that got it into canada. oil changes, inspections, the works. even the alpine deck and speakers were professionally installed with the rear ones roof mounted. weight correct mud/snow tires. all 6 of them.

the only problems i have thus far are synchros in my tranny but will make it until spring. its stalled out a couple times and restarted just fine after a minute or two. i believe its the fuel filter. will need to change that asap. and for a few more horses hitched to my wagon a weber carb.

i will post pictures as i know this was not always a stick and i would like to do some dash changes as it has no tachometer and i dislike that greatly. i know there are some things that may be different as the motor and trans were changed and it is a motorhome.

any comments or suggestions appreciated. this is my first nissan so im in my infancy with working on it and im not much of a mechanic to start with. bear with me. if there is a link to a hayes manual it would be appreciated.

thanks for the cool and helpful forum.
peace,
ninj

Is that a French Bulldog about to drive it off? :chuckle:

I can't believe the 720 can carry that and not have issues. I'm impressed.

it carries itself surprisingly well. the extra leafs in the back make it stable at a good clip. the wind is pretty noticeable to say the least. lol. and the doggie is bent around looking, shes part Chihuahua part pom. best dog ever. im sure she will appear in some pics. she always does.

thanks for the comments. happy to be here.

peace

SO cool.

I've actually been keeping an eye out for one of the Dolphin models, built on the 620 chassis.

The earliest Datsun motorhome I've seen was on a 521 chassis, so, 1972 at the latest. Awesome as heck.

Welcome aboard, ninj!
