I've tried to compile the history of the Versa from introduction in June 2006 to the 2010 model just released. If you see any mis-information, please let me know.

Model History:The Nissan Versa was introduced in the U.S. in June 2006 as an all-new model to the North American market. The Versa / Tiida B-platform is sold in North America, Japan, Europe, and other Overseas Markets, with the largest market in North America (USA). The Versa development emphasized comfort and usability in a compact package, with styling cues from a Murano inspired front and 350Z inspired rear. The engine in the Versa is the MR18 and has 'Best in Class' standard horsepower/torque rating at 122HP / 127 lb-ft torque. Combined with a spacious 17.8 cubic foot cabin and excedptional rear leg room, the Versa utilizes every inch of its dimensions to the fullest potential. The 2007 Nissan Versa wins Consumers Digest’s “Best Buy Award”.

2008 Model:The 2008 Versa returns in its second year after a successful first year introduction. It is available in two trim levels again, the 1.8S and 1.8SL, and offered in Hatchback and Sedan versions. The 2008 Nissan Versa wins Consumers Digest’s “Best Buy Award” for the second year in a row. Styling remains the same inside and out with minor changes to the options and paint colors. Only the changes from the 2007 models are listed.

2009 Model:The 2009 Versa returns in its third year after two solid years of production. It is available in five trim levels: Hatchback is available in two trim levels, 1.8 S and 1.8 SL and the Sedan available in three trim levels, 1.6, 1.8 S, and 1.8 SL). The 2009 Nissan Versa wins Consumers Digest’s “Best Buy Award” for the third year in a row, AutoPacific’s “2008 Ideal Vehicle Award for Economy Car”, receives the highest possible IIHS ratings, and is named a “Top 10 Least Expensive Vehicles to Own” by ForbesAutos.com. Styling remains the same inside and out with minor changes to the options and no changes to the exterior paint colors. Only the changes from the 2008 models are listed.

It is available in five trim levels: Hatchback is available in two trim levels, 1.8 S and 1.8 SL and the Sedan available in three trim levels, 1.6, 1.8 S, and 1.8 SL. Overall styling remains the same inside with minor updates to the options, exterior trim, and exterior paint colors. Only the changes from the 2009 models are listed.
