Hi Guys, so I am underway in a pretty intense rebuild on my 07 Infiniti M35X advance tech. A buddy of mine totaled his 08 M45X bought it back to part out and we were thinking it would be cool to swap his drive train & updated parts into my car into my car to create something cool and different and kinda for the challenge. Well we are done. We swapped the full drive train. 95% of the major electronics modules and units. The issue is his keys aren't recognizing the the security immobilizer anymore now that they are swapped. So I figured where to come but the experts so here I am. Only locking mechanisms we did not swap are the turn key door locks and trunks. We were hoping to just swap the slide out key from the fobs. Or do those need to be swapped as well? Next plan of action if no help here is to go to the dealership to have the Immobilizer & Keys reprogrammed.

It might be that 5% of the electronics that gets you.
From my experience swapping parts but involving a conventional key blade for an 03 Maxima:
1. I swapped the door lock cylinders as well. This is to ensure the ignition was matched to the door.
2. I swapped the steering column with the ignition as this is where the key's transponder antenna module was located. I suppose the equivalent component for a smart key would be the interior antenna
3. I swapped the ECU because that, from my reading, is usually matched to the transponder stuff.
If not, you could just have a dealer program the ECU to accept the key ID that the antenna sends to it, then just swap blades.
Oh, and congrats on the success so far

do you think you could sell me the left headlight cover? i had my headlights done by some idiot and they got condensation in them and it stained the cover when i had them redone and they could do anything about it.

A little update, Got the car back and everything is good to go I am getting error for my Steering lock unit when connected with the consult 3. I failed to get the vin from the donor car. That small detail I over looked. So today we will give it another go and hope everything cranks up and I will be back on the road in my Hybrid. Next step after enjoy the V8 for a couple months is decide what to do with the APS VQ35DE Twin turbo kit I have. HUMMM
