The cabin temp sensor is in there. No fan in there.

Well if you take out the piece that holds the two lights you will notice a tiny fan of sorts inside there. I'm guessing it's to give estimated of the interior temps of the car.

But it really gets annoying for me though!....I mean when the music is on i dont hear it..but there are those days where i just want to hear the music my car makes ya know. I also noticed on the Manual Controled A/C pods the dome lights thingy is smaller that of the digital one, Which explains alot now haha.

What the "fan" does is circulate air through so the sensor's variable potentiometer can recieve an accurate reading of the cabin's air temperature, as opposed to just sitting in "stale" air, and adjust the CC's air temperature accordingly. It's one of many sensors connected to the CC, but it is also one of the most important. ......I broke mine trying to fix it....

i had this problem way back when my z was running. i got access to it, i didn't know what it was at the time. so i just stuck a little piece of plastic to stop it from spinning and making that noise. i never seen a difference. now i know.

um, there is actually a fan in it. its the interior climate temp sensor and it has a fan on it to circulate the air over it. Nissan over-engineering at its finest.

...Huh? Who's talking about a temperature gauge? The only temperature gauge in the car is the coolant temperature gauge in the cluster.

We're talking about the climate control having a sensor to tell the car "He set the temperature to 73 degrees, and it's 95 degrees in the cabin, so blow cold air."

Just pop the cover off, clean the fan, and lube everything up. The noise will go away
