I JUST PURCHASED A 06 MAXIMA SE ( WHICH I LOVE), IT HAS 12,000MILES ON IT. SHOULD I USE SYNTHETIC OIL WHEN IT IS TIME FOR ITS FIRST OIL CHANGE? I DON'T KNOW WHAT THE DEALERSHIP USED OR THE PREVIOUS OWNER. THANKS FOR ANY HELP ON THIS.

Synthetic oil never hurt anyone (except on a few engines). Just put it in, it's better for the engine anyway. Oil change is recommended every 3K miles, but I usually do mine every 5K. Have fun with the Max.

Just put in synthetic and keep putting in synthetic. Don't switch back. And please stop using all caps lock!

Even you said "emphatic" in small case

He's got one thing going for him: If and only if he works for a data entry company and his computer makes everything caps lock. That's it, no other excuse!

Use synthetic and get an extended life one if you plan on going more than 3500 miles between oil changes.

Fram has an extended guard oil filter rated for 7500. Mobil has both synthetic and Syn Blends for extended drain intervals too.

The only risk you run is when the engine seals are on their way out anyways.

When you take your Max in to the dealer for oil changes synthetic is what they use.So there is no problem with using synthetic

The dealer does NOT by default put synthetic in your car when you get an oil change.

They do offer it, but it's not standard.

I use M1 fully synthetic in all of our cars with nissan filters. If you don't know what's in it or when it was changed, then now is the time.

i was also concerned by oil...my cousin did me a "fav" and serviced my car...i was cursing him for hours... althou he ment wellhe put cheap oil and 87 fuel!!!!!!!!!i was so mad...but he still ment well...now i wanna fix the damage... (well, the fuel lasted only 260 miles when the 93 lasts about 320...)but i can actually feel the diff between the old synt oil and the "new" one.so in the manual it says to put 10w40 / 10w30 or 5w50 for really cold weather... whats the diff between the first two? and how much liters i haveto put in?!?!

i can tell u from experience to put synthetic in ur max if u got low miles cuz u csn actually get a few more horse power and watch ur rpms gauge when ur going ur normal cruzing speed... Its just a tad lower which is proof that ur getting better lubrication. Unfortunetly for me a wise azz mechanic told me to put syn in my 80000 mile max and of course it leaked thru the gasket. I drained it again and put extended life and the leak stopped 95 percent. Now i know. Dont do it on ur old maximas guys.

Dont EVER use fram filters they are total crap its proven that out of all filters they have the WORST filter element. Mobil 1 FTW!!!
