Hey all,

I'm sick and tired of dealing with these coilovers. The ride quality sucks and the parts keep failing. When I got these, they were slightly used. But when my shop disassembled one of the front shocks, we found very bad wear on the spacer and center nut:

Then I started getting spring binding. The front springs would get stuck. They would twist in place and make a lot of noise. So I purchased these washers with bearings:

It worked okay for a while, and the binding came back. Then the right rear strut began to fail. It would make a nasty clunking sound at low speed.

I called BC Racing. Each time they told me to check my preload settings, which was not helping. After several conversation, they agreed to send me a new rear strut and new mounts for the front. I dropped $200 on this, and I had my shop install them. The clunking in the rear went away, but was replaced with this annoying ticking sound. The sound in the front disappeared for a day or two, probably because the load was lessened and now it's back.

I miss the stock ride quality and I'm tired of dealing with this crap, and spending so much money.

I'm thinking to go back to stock struts and lowering springs. I am leaning towards Tein lowering springs because of the lower drop, compared to Eibach: http://www.thenismoshop.com/TEIN-STech- ... p_716.html.

I assume I need to a camber kit to keep the camber in check on either Eibach or Tein. Anything else I need to know when making the switch? I know the coilovers put a good deal of stress on the control arms. I know the ride quality won't be 100% the same as it was when I got it.

Has anyone used Tein lowering springs before? How do they compare to Eibach? I remember a thread about an Eibach spring snapping from a forum member. It spooked me.

By the way, why are the Eibach camber bolts so expensive? They look like simple hardware I can buy on my own.

Is there a camber kit sold by Tein? I'm guessing the Eibach kit might not work due to the lower drop. Can anyone confirm?

One of my Eibachs shattered in two places. The same happened to LBC and my friend Pete who doesnt come on here very often. Eibach replaces free of charge, its just a pain to swap them out.

i have eibachs on for 3 years now (~20k miles on it). No issues at all. The ride quality is still pretty good in my opinion and im on 20" rims.I drive it all season. However, i'm looking to go lower but not anytime soon. Im content right now with eibachs so when i get some more cash, i'll get coils. Just my experience with eibachs.

eibach springs have been great in my experience. its seen numerous canyon runs and about 5 track days. ive logged in just under 100k miles on springs. shocks are starting to go out but i already expected that to happen within time. if you want to go a tad lower the tein springs is the route to go.

Cool, thanks. I'm going to go with Tein springs. Can I just use the Eibach camber kits? I imagine so, since they are meant for OEM shocks.

Tein springs are on a nationwide back-order. Looks like first delivery might be around May.

Eibach is also on back-order, but not nearly as long. They should start shipping by end of March.

H&R is still around. The H&R drop seems to be a tiny bit lower than Eibach. Any experiences with H&R? It seems to be the one I will be going with, since I can't stand to drive on these coilovers much longer.
