Anyway, as many of you may remember, I posted up a thread asking advice on 4 door hatches. I love the Insight, still do. I just needed something a little bit bigger. Not SUV bigger, just three-people-instead-of-two bigger. One thing I was sure of, unfortunately, was that there was nothing on the Nissan lot that fit the bill. I wanted a manual and that bumped me down to the Z, Versa, and Sentra. Z is too small and I was looking for something with a little more power and sportier / better-looking than the Versa or the Sentra. Call it a mid-life crisis, whatever, don't care. I was just ready to get into a fun car that would hold more than 2 people.
I drove the ST Hatch. Although there some things I loved about, there were some things that I definitely didn't. I felt every little bump in the road and the seats were not at all what I expected. Also, the back seat was pretty much non-existent. I looked at WRX, I looked at the Mazda6, the Speed3. Well, unbeknownst to me, Greg was cooking up something. The night I drove the Speed3, I came home just blown away. I couldn't shut up about it because it was just everything that I wanted. However, I have never owned a brand new car before, and was pretty much set on never buying one. But like I said, Greg had other plans.
He messaged me yesterday while I was at school wanting to know if I'd go out to dinner with him. I said yes, so fast forward three hours later and we're driving down Bell road....right past the Mazda dealership. At the intersection, he says, "we're a little early for dinner, let's do something" and he turns into the lot. He says, "show me this car you've been raving about". Well, I walk up to the building where it was parked and it's gone. I had driven it several days before, so I wasn't surprised that someone had snatched it up. About that time, a sales guy comes out and introduces himself. The fact that Greg didn't immediately become defensive and say "Piss Off" should have been my first clue... the fact that the guy says, "well come on in and I'll see if I can locate one for you"...should have been my second one. I walk into the showroom and there's the car, in the middle of the showroom with a big red bow on it. STILL not getting it, I said, "someone's already bought it". Greg turns to me, laughs, and said, "Yeah, they did. It's yours." I am loved beyond measure (and good common sense, apparently). I only wish we had enough time to drive it to Carlisle.
So, here she is. Sweet #16. You've guys have got to help me out with a name because this one's not going anywhere.
