it looks neat, but i dont see how the supercharger connects to the intake stream...?

can you explain how you made it work? i'm curious and fascinated.

My guess is he has a pipe at the back of the SC that runs down like a downpipe, up the front to the ic form passenger to driver's, then up and mates to the one you see...

i know it looks crazy like that but those pics were while i was test fitting but now the supercharger plate has a outlet welded on to it comes out just under the water inlet then routes back to a rb 20 side mount intercooler then back to the intake plenum

The idea of having an output pipe rather then having the SC bolted directly to the intake manifold is fantastic. With the air charge cooled, you can easily run 15psi with the SC.

The ITB's are not my thing, far to much involved in that project for the benefit, but thats for me only. I'd fab a long runner manifold and have the SC go through a FMIC. With 15 PSI from the SC, you'd be able to run a HUGE turbo with NO LAG to speak of and make insane amount of power.

But just the SC alone will make a wicked fun daily driver. You'll have to post up pics of the fab process from here on out. This will be a fantastic article.

What problems did you have with the ITB's?

i need to post pics of the final product but i dont have any right now but as it stands right now i have the supercharger under then mani and itbs with a plenum put the iacv and the aac valves on the plenum and wired everything as normal minus the throttle position sensor i spliced them together using the stock plug and the suzuki sensor also i have clearance problems between the plenum and sc because of the itbs and dont know if the safc2 can recognize the suzuki sensor when i got the safc2 wired in and did the sensor check and monitor mode the throttle was at a steady 20 percent and wouldnt come down even after i adjusted it but i didnt think that would affect it from starting i did crank on it alot trying different things could it have jumped timing

in the pic it looks like there is no room to connect the coolant line to the inlet on the motor.

but thats cool. hope it all works out.

I did see some posts that were almost complete...just not in this thread. Something similar to has been done a couple times now, but without the FMIC.

My idea was to mount that dude over the exhaust mani and run it through the FMIC similar to the Miata setup. Instant 15psi FTMFW...I still may do it that way...I dunno.

It happened, I had it complete for a few months and enjoyed every minute of it. Only prob, i was blowing couplers all the time. Pissed me off. I tell you what it really is fun having instant boost like that. Anyways this is what the final product was.

By the way how this thread get brought back. Also it really was waste of good fab work and time. I probably could have just went turbo and got pretty close to the same result. With all the piping and such. But i wanted to do something that was a little off the beat'n path.

Sweet, what happened to it? Why arnt you driving it now? That was a lot of work just for a few months of fun.

SCd cars are a crap ton of fun to drive, everyone dismisses them until they drive one. Def was not a waste IMO, a supercharged 240 must have been a blasstttt on the street.

The ITB's were kinda a waste.. Lol, but w/e.

Well, i took it off the road for a rebuild. Was still running when i did but there was a bunch of blow by and compression was way down. Something like 140-140-155-130. Cant remember now. Then i had a wild idea of putting a 6.0 lq4 from a 2500 truck in it. Well money got real tight and now just rebuilding it back to basically stock. Then redoing the supercharger with small changes (hopefully for the better) and going to feed it with a small turbo. Been doing some looking around and for me that is the best route. We'll see? Thanks for compliments and yeah itb's were a complete waste of time. LOL

I had a front mount from godspeed in there first and it was just way to much area for a eaton to fill up. So basically i never saw boost. That's why i changed to the small side mount. I was working on a custom intake manifold that would incorporate a air to water core inside and the supercharger would bolt to it, but it seems to be to much for me.

I have limited tools, and just not patient enough for it either. I am redoing things as we speak and gone incorporate a air to water intercooler this time. I'll be sure to post everything as i get further along. Again thanks for the compliments.
