Hi, my V8 conversion is nearly complete. I was wondering if anyone knows what I can do to minimize the number of air hoses in and around the throttle & intake area, and what I can completely eliminate whilst leaving the engine running sweet.

Furthermore, removing the EGRG solenoid valve and other unnecessary things, what do I do to take it out of the system, and how do I replumb it all correctly ? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Cheers

EGR is very important to achieveing highway MPG, it is reponsible for at least 2 mpg on highway and the ability of engine to not knock in summer heat.

"diluting the mixture lowers combustion temperatures because you>have to heat up some unreactive gases. That's the main idea of EGR,>because lower temperatures decrease emissions of NOX.>>It also reduces heat transfer, because convective heat transfer>is proportional to the difference in temperature (between gas>and walls), and radiative heat transfer is proportional to the>difference of the FOURTH POWER of the temperatures. Less heat>lost to the walls means a greater percentage of the heat is>going into increased gas pressure, therefore increased work."

I'm only interested in pure performance, making the engine run as unrestricted as possible. Highway MPG is irrelevant to me as this is a street/track car.

Would removing the EGRG Solenoid Valve and blocking all associated holes/ports cause more problems than it would fix ?

What about other hoses in and around the intake manifold ?
