When I put the trans into gear I hear a rattle coming from the under the engine/trans area.....possibly torque converter?
It rattles as I accelerate, and stops when I get up to about 30 mph. Resuming when ever i take off from a stop.

my truck is a 1995 4x2 pathfinder. not 4 wheel drive

Does anyone have an idea or has anyone had this issue?

I just got the truck yesta and haven't crawled under to check it really good.
any help would be appreciated. Im not very knowledgeable with these trucks.

Check for loose exhaust heat shielding. I have been gradually tearing all of mine off as they rust off the mounts and then start vibrating. I even had one fall most of the way off and contact the drive shaft making a shearing sound like the transmission was bad. Scared me half to death because I was about 40 miles from nowhere. I pulled off and looked under hoping for something simple and there it was...

Check those heat shields. Most of the ones that are attached to the pipe are worthless anyway and can just be torn off with some vice grips or cut off with a hack saw. I only tear off the ones that go bad because I am sure Nissan put them there for a reason originally.

Also, the heat shielding mounted to the underside of the vehicle can get bent if hit with a rock or something. That has also happened to me. That can just be bent back into place with hands or pliers.

Make sure the car is not hot before doing any of this!
