A friend and I took a look at the wheel bearings on both of the front tires about two weeks ago and there were no signs of failure or even a slight wobble. Checked the breaks and the axle boots and everything checked out okay. Now the faint noise is more of a loud click and still occurs at the same speed as the wheels. Does anyone have any input on what this could be or where I should check? I would like to narrow it down a little before removing axles just to hope to find the cause. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
A little back ground: The car is at about 52k miles, the click does not seem to get worse when turning, and there is no direct signs of part failure (i.e. no shake in the steering wheel or brake pedal and no grinding noises). And all of my accessible bolts are tightened to specified torques.
