Strange buzzing noise when driving. help!

Hi guys,
Getting a weird noise I never heard before when stepping on the gas.
I searched the site, and cannot find anything which describes this.

When I start acceleration, or when braking and nearing stop I can hear it best because the engine noise is low.
Its almost like a buzzing noise, or like a fan is starting up and something is stuck in it kind of sound. The noise is gone at idle, and not heard in reverse.

It gets louder when starting to accelerate and softer when i slow down, and gone at idle.
Its hard to tell where its coming from. My guess is somewhere from the engine compartment, or maybe even within the dashboard.
I may have to have my wife try to start driving while i try to listen outside the car, to see if i can pinpoint where its coming from.
Anyone heard this noise before?

no, its not that rattle. Like is said it only happens when driving, not at idle.
I think it may be front brake rotor issue like described here in this thread.

sorry man, its tough to figure out things like this over the net. everyone describes noises differently, rattle or tapping or grinding can all be the same lol

try a video for us.

(PS: exhaust shield rattles sometimes wont happen at idle, and will happen when RPM's are very high during driving. its tough to figure out)

took it in to the dealer.. and they said its a transmission problem no doubt.. and i'll possibly need a new one, but they were not sure yet.
got a loaner for a few days.. 2012 Rogue

some nice new features in the 2012 compared to my old 08.. almost makes me want to upgrade

Do you remember when we were kids and clothes pinned cards to the wheels of our bicycles for the cool sound they made? That is how I described the sound I was having, and yes my 08 rogue is in the shop getting a new transmission
