I have read alot about stiff steering on the Infiniti. I have a 2006 G35X. Let me start by saying that I live in Illinois, please don't hold that against me. Every time it rains then gets below freezing the car is impossible to turn especially at low speeds. As soon as it warms up the issue goes away. Any suggestions on what is getting frozen?

I had a 06 G35 6sp manual and never had that problem in the 171796 miles that I put on it.

Belts, power steering pump, power steering fluid would be places to start.
Also search/check the FSM manual that can be found on this site.

I checked ps pump and fluid, they are fine. It only happens after a rain then really cold weather. Soon as it warms up it goes away

Just picked mine up a few days ago from a dealer. During the test drive, I had a problem with the steering getting choppy when i turned the wheel. The dealer fixed the problem. They said it was something to do with the steering box.

Steering box? I'm assuming you mean rack and pinion? I just replaced power steering pump and serpentine belt, also added new fluid. Did not fix problem but it has slowly gotten better again. Could it be something electrical getting wet?

Most likely your steering rack and pinion is failing. I would get the part checked before it causes an accident for you.
