I KNOW, I KNOW. There are probably a s*** load of threads on this subject, but either people are too vague, or me and my buddy have done what they've said, and nothing has prevailed.

My buddy has got a Redtop in his 240, and it's idle is pretty crappy. It's not surging, but it's kinda boggy. When you drive/rev the motor at ~1,500-2500rpms (Educated guess due to a faulty tach), it seems like the gas is like cut out, and the car starts shaking and jolting (when driving). He's put new plugs into it, we literally just did the timing. We even messed around with the CAS more afterwards, and still nothing. Messed around with the TPS sensor, and it didn't help at all. We've checked, double checked, and triple checked the vacuum lines. They're either re-routed or sealed. We're currently burning the rest of the gas in the tank, and we're gonna run a higher octane, see if that helps any :gotme . Anyone out there help? If you need more info or even videos of what I'm talking about, I'll post some (only if needed). Any suggestion will help, as we do have another parts 240 w/ a redtop also. Anything else should we check?

Have you checked fuel pressure? Still sounds like a timing/ignition problem from the sounds of how its driving.

See, that's what I'm thinking. I'm still thinking the timing is off, but why would the worst part only be around 2,000 rpm? Anything above that, it almost feels like nothing is wrong at all, but I'll check the pressure.

Most timing errors, especially ignition timing when it's just barely off, seem to "disappear" to the butt dyno at higher RPMs. I posted a topic on how to stab your cas very quickly and accurately. The link is in the FAQ. I recommend you try it.
