whats up Nicoclub.

in a bit of a time crunch so i will just post this question now.

sr20det installed into a datsun 1200 pickup.

is the speedo gauge required for the ECU to function properly or is able to be deleted with no issues? i realize this may be covered already, and i myself frown on redundant posts but as i mentioned i am in a bit of a time constraint so just looking for a quick response if anybody can help.

thanks

cheers

thanks for the reply.

i found that the speedo actually does have a small play in the engine management but still able to drive.

I actually got lucky at the local surplus store and was able to source a silvia cluster.

It should only tie in for the speed limiter. The VSS sends its signal directly to the cluster and then the gauge should just send a single wire signal to the ecu. That wire is more or less a switched circuit to the ecu.

My SR powered S13 has no speedometer and has never had an issue with it. Hijacker nailed it.
