Im going to be running 15 to 16 psi when i get my ecu back, and i was wondering what is the best gap for my plugs? theyre gaped to .044 right now, but i heard .034 was best (ngk plugs, heat range 7)? Thanks

Heat range 6 works, but 7 might be ok too. It's a balancing act with plugs. They need to be cold enough to remove heat from the cylinder, but not too cold so they foul.

Definitely go .034 or so. .044 will detonate at that boost. If you go lower than .032 or so, it may not idle well., especially when it's cold.

what will happen if the heat range is to low? I had heat range 6, but read if your running boost higher than 15psi to run heat range 7 to keep from detonating...

Use 6 at .034 unless you hear detonation, then use 7 but I doubt you will have an issue

Run them for a couple weeks and then pull a couple out and have a look at them. Optimally they should look slightly tan without deposits.

Have a read on this, all 5 pages. Spark plugs really tell the story of how the engine is running.

thats what my old plugs looked like, i just want to know if its going to hurt anything to run the cooler plugs, it sounds like to me, that is the safest way to go is to run the cooler plugs, and i dont want to have to throw away brand new plugs (50$ down the drain)... thanks

I wouldn't either. I'd run them for a bit and see if they look clean. If they are too cold, they will look sooty

if it has -11 at the end of the plug type, its gaped to .044 and we have to regap them

mostly .044, but like i said if the plug is something like BKR7EIX-11 the -11 is the gap, which is .044, you can find other gaps for the same plug i believe, but just get the ones gaped at .044 and regap them
