Yep, you read that right, a Ford. First of all, it wasn't our idea. However, once we saw it, we knew we had to help Greg's dad out. He found this classic Model A that had been restored and needed a new home. (Previous owner had passed away, his widow was selling off the fleet). Turns out, Greg's Mom has a brother that lives in the same city. He went and talked to the widow and she gave him the rundown. A few e-mails later and the deal was sealed. Unfortunately, the retirement community Greg's parents live in have a strict policy on cars. They didn't have room. So, we scooted a few things around and made a few changes to the stable.

Here's a few pics of our newest resident. Her name is Charlotte, named after Greg's mother's mom.
We are having to learn a whole new language here so if anyone has any insight into these classics, please feel free to share.

I know someone who has a model A and a Model T, the model T still had the original interior, completely un-touched in any way.. This same person also has a 67.5 ford fairlane that he bought new and only has 7000 miles on it, as well as a 57 bel-air.

Congrats on the purchase, if you guys have any questions I can ask this person.. :)

It has optional rear view mirrors on both spare wheels, which became quite popular in the late 1910s.

Looks great! Time to start watching "Chasing classic cars".

There's really not a whole lot to them. Was the restoration done with original parts, or is it a "driver's car"?

Thank you! I knew those were late-40s GM body lines but I couldn't place it.

Well then... the answer is obvious. Don't mess with it! Replace with only original parts ;)

Do you mind me asking how much it went for, and how much it's generally considered to be worth (I'm assuming Greg's parents got the "friend deal").

The owner has $100K in the restoration. It's all steel, authentic down to the gaskets and fasteners, and was a nut-and-bolt resto.

We paid way, way, way less than that. Think loaded '12 Corolla money.

Here's some better pics... Guy standing with the car is my Great-Uncle Tommy (who got me interested in cars when I was a kid), best buddy of the car's previous owner.

Greg and Bex,

Dad wanted me to post this. Thought you'd be interested in seeing it.

This is a great video showing the first assembly lines at the original Ford auto plant. Neat to see those guys making the old wooden wheels, mostly by hand. Watch near the end and you'll see where the model T could go . . . let's see any regular auto of today do that.
Wonder how many of these are still in running condition?

Dang, that was the car my father said he always wanted, more than the exotic cars he did have. An old Model A with a rumble seat. Georgeous find.

HOLY CRAP THAT THING IS A BEAST!
