Hello fellow nico members this my first post so plz bare with me ill try and be as clear as possible ..I have a 2002 q45 with 85k on it im the second owner and bought it about a year ago, I have kept up with all basic maintance recently did oil change spark plugs air filter fuel filter brakes.(i do have to change my control arm bushings so my steering wheel is not straight its slightly to the right, been shopping around but its sold as a complete control arm and there very pricey)(i also have to change my tpms sensors cuz my display is reading ** hopefully its just the sensors and not nothing serious..in the past year i have change the starter(solnoid was shot) both cam angle sensors and cam shaft sensor also the crank shaft sensor( i had a problem with the car shutting off randomly while driving.turned out to be the crank sensor which was on the transmission)then i changed one 02 sensor i believe it was the front left bank(i know it was on the driverside...After about 45 min of driving i had a check engine light come on i put it on a scanner and it gave me a couple codes after sum research on here i figured it was the o2 so i went ahead and replaced the one that thru the code i only did one hopefully thats not an issue).

Ok now that i got that out the way lets get into my issue, so this weekend i had to make an hour trip and about 45 min into it my slip/vdc light turns on and the display says take it to the nearest dealership i wasnt abusing the car i was doing a steady 70-75 the car didnt lose any power it drove normal so i pulled over and shut the car off and turned it back on the slip/vdc light shut off n didnt turn back on until i made the same trip back home, it actually seemed like the light turned back on 45 min into the trip i then again pulled over and shut the car off and turned it back on and it cleared...i have checked my brake fluid and i checked the air pressure in the tires ( i had this issue once b4 when i had my 20" rims on and i had a slow leak n had low pressure)since then i have went back to my factory wheels which do need new tpms sensors...I drive my car everyday to work about half hour each way and it does not happen it only happens when i drive long distances. i hit a wall on what it could be and could use sum help before i go to the dealership....could bad tpms sensors cause this to happen.its really annoying and need to get this fixed soon. any help would be greatly appreciated ...thanks...

:welcome: to NICO!

If you don't have the factory service maual (FSM) for your Q, you can download it at www.nicoclub.com/FSM/

The diagnosis section starts at page BRC-34, but I don't see a procedure to diagnose it without Consult II (Nissan's diagnostic computer). It might be worth reading to understand the system though...

When you get past Consult I, I'm pretty much in the dark... I don't know if the newer Consults are backwards compatible or not. I bought a bluetooth code reader that works with my droid phone on eBay, but it just lets you look at certain parameters and check codes...

Maybe someone will come along with more experience...

Update** so I today I was driving locally n the slip/vdc lights came on that was the first time that happened so I stop by a local shop n had the mechanic run the codes while the lights where on . He said the only thing that popped up was the steering wheel sensor . Makes sense since my steering wheel isn't straight its at 11 . Is there anyway to fool the sensor I believe I have to change the control arm bushings .or could a simple wheel ailment fix it

An alignment should fix it.

I took it in n found that i do have to replace both lower control arm, and my rack is starting to leak it doesnt look bad but it looks a lil moist. Im clean it up and try sum lucas stop leak and see if that works .as for the control arms i found a place that gave me both oem control arms for 580 .my mechanic said he would install the control arms and do the alignment for 100, bringing the grand total to 680 the dealer quoted me 1350
