I am new to this forum and did a search on this topic and could not find anything. Am I the only 2006 G35 owner (Sedan manual 6sp) that discovered that the factory Sirius radio does not scroll program content the same way the Sirius Sportster model does? That unit is $99.00 compared to the $500.00 the Infinity dealer charged for the factory radio. The radio does scroll program content on FM when tuned to FM Stations with RDS. Am I the only one pissed off at Infinity for not pointing this out?

I have an '05, but with XM...It will scroll the SAT channels, but I don't think it has RDS. Did you try and hold the DISP button? Don't be too pissed if it doesn't work, I'd rather have Sirrus than XM.

Anyway, welcome to NICO!! any pics of your new ride?

If I continue to press the Disp button the display will change from Channel Name, Song Title, and Artist. That means I have to take my eyes off the road to do this. For a $500 radio the display should scroll without having to press any buttons. I don't have to press any buttons for the FM display to scroll as long as the FM station is sending RDS.I had XM in a rental car for a week. Sirius is much better. Great Rock music and Howard Stern 24X7

Sorry no pics yet

I'm a dummy...it does have RDS! Cool, a new feature that I didn't know about. See, isn't this forum great!

for $500 you get an integrated satellite radio through the existing factory stereo. This looks much cleaner than having that stupid aftermarket pod thing stuck to the dash somewhere.

My problem at the moment is the damn seatbelt on my '05 coupe that cuts into my neck. If you have an '06 then you have the seatbelt thing that attaches to the seat back which would help resolve my problem.

The problem of scrolling info on the radio would not even be a problem for me. I memorize the channel numbers I have programmed in and that is how I know stations.

Just my 2 cents. Sorry it doesn't scroll.

I'm an XM guy but my 2004 sedan that I just bought has Sirius. The price was too good to pass up and I was able to mount the XM unit right on the ashtray underneath the radio. For some reason the Sirius account is still active so I'm able to listen to both for now. The reception is better on the XM unit but I am starting to like the music on Sirius better. I would never pay money for Sirius however because Opie and Anthony are much funnier than Stern. When the Sirius subscription finally runs out I might consider switching the mounted unit to the XM but the whole unit will need to be replaced including the antenna. The dealership quoted about $600 to do it. Has anyone replaced the in dash unit with an aftermarket satellite radio? One that does scroll or has multiple lines of text would be nice.

Actually, Joe603 is correct, the factory satellite unit does scroll I had just not noticed it before. It says the channel number and then it flashes back and forth after a while between channel number and artist. Mine does't say the song title just the artist.

When you have the satellite on press the display button and see if you can cycle through to turn it on. I apparently did it somehow as mine works.

Hello All, I was just curious if anyone has anymore info on the satellite radio and the ability to scroll. I just purchased a 2006 Pathfinder and I had the Sirius factory installed. As of right now you can only select the default to be either channel number, name, artist, or song title. Has anyone figured out a way to have all the information scroll similiar to the way it does with FM stations. Any info would be great. Thanks.
