I used to have a 93 hatch and I loved the looks. Had problems so I got rid of it and now I have a 90 hatch. Everything about this one is really nice looking, except for the pignose front. I know Im gonna get a bunch of "Pignose FTW!"s from the hardcore pignose guys but the truth is that my first love was a chuki and I still can never love a piggy as much as a chuki.

All that to say I want the conversion buy I do not believe I have ever seen one done without horrible fitment issues or shoddy paint matches. If I have seen one done right then I didnt know it... Thats what I am looking for. A picture of the conversion where if someone didnt tell you it was a '89 or '90 you wouldnt know it.

If I cant find a picture of one done right then I dont think I will even try it.

I would, but there is no way I will get rid of it until I have a chuki installed proper.

dude, if done right...itll look like normal. its not a cr5azy conversion..at all. bumper, fenders with the hole and the little extensions....thats it, as long as you have control of your motor functions, and have money for proper paint, itll look perfectly fine.

i think thats one of the main reasons i prefer the pignose, most of the swaps ive seen look like ebay kits the way they were put on plus the pignose sort of reminds me of the s5 rx7s front bumper which i always loved

You have never seen a stock from end bolted on to a stock car?

Its just a bumper and, the fender extensions. Not much of rocket science, not much of a conversion if you know what a 10mm socket is, and how to use it.

So you obviously have some pictures of successful conversions right? If its so easy why do all the conversions I have seen look like garbage?

Show me pics or dont post. I know that it works in theory, but by not showing me any pics you are proving my point. There are no good pig to chuki conversions.

^no dude, you got it wrong.

89-90 zenki aka "pignose"

91-93 and 94 verts came with the chuki.

Kouki front was only availible in japan 95-98 I believe.

OP: it's not really a conversion. It's just putting a front bumper on a car. It bolts up the same way, but looks different. There's a lot of 240's with poorly fitted front bumpers. It can easily look good if the owner of the car gives a damn about the fitment.

Edit: ^ 88 hatch eh?

well if you want to get technical, zenki means half period, and chuki dosent really mean anything, as where ichibahn, or tousho mean first or begging halfbut what ever. from my understanding "chuki" meant first.

i gotta disagree, they dont even look close to me. if anything s5 looks close to a chuki since they both cut back towards the car at the bottom.

Yo OP (idiot) remember what the front of your 93 looked like. Do the conversion and guess what. IT WILL LOOK IDENTICAL. This isnt rocket science or even remotely difficult to figure out.

Somebody went out of their way to rape that Hatchback huh?

The stock bumper, looks a thousand times better, and those skirts are just abysmal. Its a shame seeing S13s in such a state.

Metal Angel - no offense, but we're beating a dead horse. Fit the front bumper on and double side tape the fender extensions, and you're good to go. I've seen it done several times, perfectly... and you've probably seen hundreds of member's pics, you just won't be able to tell that it used to be a pignose.
