So i hear a screeching sound from under the hood this morning :tisk: ...looked up the records...both the belts were last replaced in March 2010 with about 75K miles on the car. As of today the car has logged 119 K miles...that is 43 k miles in 4 years.

I am just not sure if the pulley is involved in the screeching sound.

BTW, just sprayed a little bit of WD40 and the sound disappeared.

What do you guys think...just the belts or could be the pulley as well?

Purchased Bando 4PK945 and 6PK1180 for a total of 20$ from amazon...also purchased 6 NGK iridium IX from amazon for 47 $ shipped...good deal right???

Planning to replace the spark plugs and the drive belts next week when they arrive.

Thoughts, comments, suggestions appreciated as always :)

Cheers !!!

You probably just need to tighten the belts a little. They stretch over time.

Replaced both the belts. The pulley was ok. 4PK945 was a bit too long, had to get 4PK0925 for the AC belt. My G is 10/02

The screeching sound is gone...found a couple of other problems though. Will create a new thread in the appropriate section.

Never spray anything on the belts, including "belt dressing". All it does is dry out the belts and cause them to fail. Good on you to just replace them!
