I know my 2007 Infiniti M35X is pre-wired for satellite radio. Has anyone bought the unit for the car and had it successfully installed?

Cutlass442...

I had mine Installed last Month. I purchased the OEM unit from http://www.infinitipartsusa.com It works like a charm. One thing i didn;t get was the shark fin antenna..it was $177.00 more. I hope this helps, oh i had my local infiniti dealer install it. One hour of labor!

A buddy of mine ordered the XM kit for me for Christmas (I have a 06 M35x). I should be getting the kit in the next few days, and I promised to provide a detailed write up on the forums, so keep on the look out for that. Hope it helps.

This is the place we ordered from: http://www.trademotion.com/par...=3323

wow, how many names does infiniti of scottsdale's part dept have?

Will Sirius work w/o the shark fin antenna?

I understand our cars are pre-wired. What are we really getting for $290?

I see the Sirius package on the infinitiparts website for $290 and after seeing the .pdf instructions I notice it already comes with an antenna.

**I was wondering if the reception is good with this antenna or do I need one of those shark fin types.

**I saw some posts about installing the antenna inside the car on the shelf behind the back seat head rests. Anyone have positive/negative comments about that?

**I called two dealers and they both quoted 2 hours labor, one at $218 and the other at $230. Does anyone think 2 hours labor is a bit much for this install and if I could ask for a reduced install price?

For you XM users, did your radios continue to work after the XM Sirius Merge? I'm looking at buying a car with XM but would prefer Sirius. My truck has a Sirius receiver and it now plays XM and Sirius.

AD1787:

There is no difference with the antenna, except for cosmetic. Reception is the same as a matter of fact the shark fin is a cover that has to be drilled into the rook of the car. The added cost of the shark fin and labor 3-4 hours wasn't worth it to me...but thats my opinoin.

I was only charged for 1 hour labor at the Gunn Infiniti here in San Antonio, Tx.
