Hi,
new to forum, just got my 2011 G37 Coupe IPL and need new tires.
Factory size tires are Front 225/45/19 and rear 245/40/19
I was wondering what is the downside if I install 245/40/19 tires both front and rear?
Any adjustments to alignment/suspension/controls needed if I use wider tire in front.
Tire shop said that wider tire fits in front where rim which is 8.5", and rear rim is 9" wide
Based on simple calculations if I use 245/40/19 in front instead of 225/45/195, tire will be sitting about 3mm lower, i.e. effective front wheel diameter will decrease by 6mm ( 225*0.45=101.25mm and 245*0.4=98mm)
Thanks for any insights

Sidewall is only .1" lower as is radius. Diameter is .3" smaller. No issues doing this.

I did the same thing on my G35s sedan, running 245-40's all the way around instead of the staggered setup and it's fine.

EDIT: I'm actually running 245-45's on the sedan as the factory rear on those was that size.

Yes, you can...but you can go larger I had Yokohama S-Drives 245/35 for the front and 275/35 for the rear on my 2005 G35 with 19x8.5" rims.

285/35 is the widest tire you can put on the stock 19X8.5" wheels.
