So my driver door is sagging and in order for it to be aligned with the rear door you have to lift it slightly. So, i'm getting hinges, easy solution.

But, another problem I have is that when the door is shut, it actually sinks in farther than the rear door, creating a lip where the rear door begins. This creates a whistle at 40+ speeds and it upsets me when I look in the rear view mirror. I looked at all the components and the striker and the latch appear to have normal wear, with no excessive gouging or anything like that. Just curious if any of you guys have ever experienced this or know whats causing it? The hinges will help with the sagging door, but could they also be the cause of the mis-alignment? Seems like it would be something to do with the striker and latch?

Nissan doesn't waste money on front door hinges. I've replaced mine twice in 19.5 years. Really difficult to get them aligned correctly without removing fenders.Things that show up after 120k-150k.

The first month I bought my car the wind blew my driver's door wide open passed its limits causing the alignment of my door to be way off.

I bought new hinges and a door check strap and had the dealer paint and install them. The first time they painted them, they were painted white and I had to go back and have them add the pearl to match the finish of my car.

Now the paint matches but the alignment is still off. They said it would cost another $600 to make it right. They would like me to believe that the post is bent and requires a lot of labour to make it right. It's so frustrating and I don't know an honest bodyman to fix it.

That's a shame. I do know one, but that would be one loooong drive.

To do the job correctly it takes 2-3 men 1.5 hours because of the door weight and assorted jacks and supports. Why I said if you are doing it by yourself might as well pull the fender off.

You know, leave it to Nissan to make something simple difficult. I just replaced all four door hinges on my truck. Took me $28 and about an hour by myself.

Sheesh

So, they don't just sell the pin and bushing, you have to buy the whole hinge assembly??

Wow... leave it Harbor Freight to make a $40 solution to that issue! I once had a 1990 Mercury Cougar that required door adjustments to it's heavy doors about every two months... that looks way easier than what I used to do!

I drive a '07 Nissan Sentra, my driver door is sagging and I'm trying to get an inexpensive fix to the issue. I was told i would need a new bushing but the pin is not like other pins I saw other people replace on other vehicles. It looks like a special assembly.

Probably get a better response posting in a sentra section, not Q45.
