Car: S14 rhd. working on a skyline conversion

Post

I have a rhd s14 and am about to start an attempt to convert it to an r34 look. Now the s14 I have itself is a wreck and is a project so I figure instead of fixing it up into an regular s14 im going to convert it into the r34.I have heard this has only been done twice, And that a member here also has the s14 r33 conversion.I was just going to get r34 body parts and start cutting and welding, molding etc.Is there any tips or pointers I should know beforehand? Also I dont want no skyline, had one before and I ended up surrendering it. I am pretty set on doing this but any tips or pointers you may have would help me in the long run. Thanks

Ive only seen it once. And that was on the Bomex Demo car.I think it looks pretty good, with a different paint job the car would look awesome.

As for tips.Id say be patient and make sure to get it right the first time.

Heres to hoping yours turns out good. !i!i!.

Provided that conversion was done on an R32, it's still the cleanest conversion to R34 on any platform I've seen.

I've wanted to take this on and probably will do an R324 whenever I can pick up an R32, which is probably in 2014 when the first ones become legal to import in the US.

Edit: Forgot to mention that it took MWRacing $10k-20k Canadian in parts to do the conversion

been done before, honestly, if your not gonna go all the way, then i wouldnt do it"hey, did you convert that into a skyline?""ya, but its still RWD and a 4 cyl"Look up FULLRACE, they successfully put the motor, drivetrain, and suspension into a S14. i say go for broke, or keep your money

Huh. I saw bomexs, I also saw a green one with an inverted hood.Anyways I know I need to do the following:make new brackets for the fenders, headlights, taillights, bumpers.. the hood probably won't fit very well at all without major modification because the windshields are different.. for the back bumper I think an r34 actual bumper would be best.Should I change the doors? Also how can I have the hood and fenders match up with the doors since bomex's looks like there is a gap..

I personally like those gaps.If done in the DTM style i imagine the car would look badass. That way the front end still has the R34 proportions and you dont have to meddle with the doors.

Custom work is fun, i wish i had the time to get something like this done with my SX.

after looking at that s15 conversion on here where the whole back end of the s15 was welded on a s14 i'd say anything is possible with patience and dedication.

That demo car is over the top but i can see a clean conversion done on the s14 that would look clean

That front end looks well done. I personally don't like how the rear looks, I think it is those over-fenders; they look to round. Also as stated before that body kit is way over the top. The rear end is going to be the most difficult, take your time and make sure you post your progress up here. Glad to see no one said, "WOW WTF YOUR AN IDIOT, YOU CANT DO IT!!"

Best of luck to you.

If your gonna do this id suggest getting some molding tools and grinders and things of that nature lolz.

But in my opinion its a totally pointless thing to do.. If I were you id go for an r32-33 because they look more similar to each other because the cars were made during the same time. R34 would be extremely difficult. But if you could pull it off then.

1) Please don't. :barf:
2) Even Bomex doesn't sell the aero for the pics you see above.
3) Does Bomex even still exist anymore?!? Hella old & out of style.
4) There are some R33 aero kits still available, R34 style overfenders & you could do a headlight conversion... But again: No. :tisk:
5) No, I'm not gonna post links because its gross.
