i bought a 1980 280zx with some wiring issues could someone please tell me where the one cable (red ciricle) belongs?

Looks like its circling the end of 3 cables... all of which appear to be grounds?

A better picture would certainly help along with some "context"... Show where the wire goes (into the fusable links? into the harness?) That area IS the location of a Ground Lug, but you wouldn't want to be grounding a wire that isn't actually a GND.

Actually what is circled appears to be the positive battery terminal and the 2 leads that go to the fusible link box (that little black box on the fender to the left in your pic) all of which attach to the positive side of the battery, the negative battery terminal is resting on your inner fender between the positive lead and the fusible link box. The pic isn't great to verify which battery lead is which follow them to the starter, the negative should go to a starter mounting bolt of bellhousing bolt, the positive goes to a copper stud on the forward end of the starter.
