Well, this is my first build thread on nico. Second build thread ever. (My Z31 has one on another forum)

So a few weeks ago my friend messaged me asking if I needed any s13 parts. Any way to make a long story short, he hadn't driven this car in a while, so he was going to part it out. I offered to buy it whole, but stock. A few weeks and $500 later, here we are.

First off. Its rusty. Really rusty, my friend lives in detroit (area) so its bad. However, its still safe, and cheap. Also its a OEM 2 tone, sohc 5 speed base model. It also has KYB GR2's (kinda worn tho) with tien drop springs, Tien tie rods and tie rod spacers, subframe collars, short shifter and a full exhaust and intake. Oh, and it has amazing condition blue interior. On to the pics.

My friends white accord behind me, he picked up the day before. Decent car, excellent MPG for a 3L v6 6speed.

The interior, as is when I was driving home. Ug what a mess

Image
All cleaned up. Yes those are s15 seats, and they are not mine. Buy them and I will give the money to my friend. YES THEY ARE AWESOME

Image
The water pump was puking quite a bit. Changed that and got carried away....

Image
Yeah. Did not enjoy looking at that....

All cleaned up. SO much better.

So far, I drove it home about 200 miles, and just a few miles here and there. Also I bought it JANUARY 1st. Starting this year off RIGHT. Hahaha. Already did some snow drifting and that was awesome.

Repaired list:
-Spark plug wires tapped up (new NGK wires ordered in for tomorrow)
-All emissions removed (~8 open/exposed lines)
-Z32TT fuel filter
-Puking water pump
-tons of little stuff Ive forgotten in 2 days haha

Removed today:
-all actual emissions vac lines (need to make EGR block off plate)
-Ac components (they worked, but had no freon, will reinstall in late spring)
-lots of dirt, grime and garbage

Ive cleaned the interior, the engine bay. Need some random interior panels that are missing, but mainly a BLUE center console. Its driving me nuts. Tomorrow I need to pull the front core support out some but mainly fix the exhaust leak. Looks like I have to build a test pipe. Either way, the KA isnt staying long. AN NO IM NOT GOING essarrrtwanky. I will never rock an SR unless its just to flip and sell. Which is not happening any time soon.

Any way, I hate staring at those wheels. Im hopefully getting 5 lug soon, so I can put my starion wheels on, or something else I have laying around.

Goals? I just want a REALLY nice daily s13. It'll just be completely badass. Full interior, decently low, quick (mid 12's in the quarter mile) But mainly I want nice, and comfortable. And not smelly.

Actually whats happening- 5 lug soon, throw on my tien coils (need softer springs), super secret motor swap (will post start to finish pics....when its finished) clean up interior and make it complete, fix OMG WALL damage and paint it OEM colors.

~Alex

PS heres my Z31 turbo. It has bolts ons (FMIC, MBC, 3in testpipe back) rear tien coils, eibach/tokico fronts, gutted and caged, Kaaz 2 way, 17x10/18x10.5 RPF1's etc etc. It was my only car from august till december haha.

Good to see another 2 tone coupe saved. That thing needs paint bad though.. Sorry if i missed it but are you repainting it 2 tone? I have been on the line as to what im going to do about paint. I love the 2 tone but everyone seems to be doing it now and it dosnt really seem like people care if it was factory 2 tone or not.

Yeah I'm going to repaint it oem 2 tone with 2 stage spray cans. I used it on various things and its turned out well. Eventually if the car lasts long enough, Id like to do a real full car respray. We'll see. Gotta get through the last of the winter first.

Also, I need to make a 2.5in test pipe asap. I tried driving the car today with a migraine and it was like I was getting drilled in the skull. Extremely unpleasant. I made it a total of 8 blocks round trip to a CVS and I was nauseous. The factory catalytic converter flange is bent and leaks a lot. So its gotta go. I hate NA cars.

Melvin- YGPM thanks.

Gordon- We'll see. My dad bought a nice 110v lincon welder that works great, but your garage is bigger and empty :D

I started to fix the front end today. Its driving me nuts.

The core support was touching the battery. Now its closer to what it should be. I'm thinking of cutting off all the thin sheet metal and leaving the core support free floating by the battery, and just kinda starting from scratch. I don't really care how it looks, as long as my headlight and fender lines up.

^The container's material can be discolored. Hopefully, his coolant is that color but it seems like it's the sun's fault.

Nice save on the two tone!

Battery is staying where it is.

I'll start cutting and welding in the next few days. Gotta get my dads 928 out of the garage, its been in there over a weak. Ug.

The coolant was the general use orange (non dexcool) and its all been flushed out and converted to green coolant. Also if you look in the bottom of the overflow tank, you can kinda tell its green.

In other news, I scored a head light bucket assembly for the pass side, so when I do get to cutting and welding I can get everything to line up. I also threw on some 14in snow flake rims from a 280z to go snow drifting. Which, over the past 2 nights a friend and i have been out for a total of 6 hours. I love rack spacers, decent amount more angle = less spinning in the snow. I also got my spare open diff welded at gmac708's house. pic time!

205/70/14's are huge. But they are free and have tread and fit well haha

Image
My Z in its resting place, my coupe, my dads 944 in front of it, and my friends 280zx turbo. :D

Image
Diagram to explain to friends how lucky and awesome (lucky) this car is. Switch backs in front of pigs FTW

Image
The kaaz is about to be sold, so heres the replacement.

Also I scored nice simple side skirts for free. Ones a little rough, but its in one piece and free is free. I also found a center rear garnish and tail light, and fuel pump assembly and two Z32 MAF's at a junkyard.

Over the course of two days I blew 5 fuel pump fuses. Couldn't figure out anything other then a dying fuel pump, or a bad ground, because the out side of the assembly was extremely rusty. Threw in the junkyard assemly and fuel pump, and it starts faster and easier and doesn't blow fuses. Strange.

I found my inspiration  I'm also considering a roof wing and trunk lip style spoiler. Thats way down the line unless my tax return rocks. On the financial note, I quite my job. Getting demoted with out being told about it is, slightly insulting. I don't take kindly to that.

Any way, more progress soon.
