Hey guys. New to the forum but have lurked the pages for years. I need some advice and can't seem to get any help from the local auto parts store or the "stealership". Have an '03 G35 Sedan. Hearing some rubbing now which I believe is a stuck caliper. As the vehicle is getting older, the front rotors have already been turned once, I know that both pads and rotors needs some attention. I want to replace pads, rotors and calipers but needs some advice on what do get. I'd like to not break the bank, but I want something that will last and perform well. I looked at the Duralast "everything" from the local, but have read some negatives. Any and all help would be greatly appreciated. Also, was considering drilled verses slotted as I upgrade. I've heard that slotted is better but not sure.....Thanks club.

Hi and welcome. I'd get the Brakemotive (or similar) kit on EBay for the rotors and pads...all four corners should run you under $200. As for the calipers, I usually just get remand from Auto Zone, Pep Boys, etc. But I think Brakmotive also sells those (only saw them once though).

I suggest an Akebono upgrade. Get with Mike at tunerzstore.com and he can take care of you. This is his '04 G35 sedan we did:

I appreciate the info. I think that's exactly what I'm going to do.

@ audtatious - I need some help with my setup. I have an 08 G35 Sport - sedan. If I remember correctly, the 08 coupe was a 37 and the sedan a 35...
So, with an 08 S model sedan, do I have the Akebono system? I'm pretty sure I don't have Brembo. I haven't done any brake work yet.
Do you have rotor size measurements you could share. Is Akebono stamped on all of their calipers?

Thanks

The akebono will have INFINITI stamped on them.
mfDB, Mike at tunerzstore.com can help you out if you give him a call.

as for the brakemotive, I've put those on my parents i35. they seem to be working ok. Nothing like the akebonos.

I must be missing something on that site. I see Stoptech but not Akebono except in the description. I have an '07 sedan and it only brings up Stoptech or Stoptech (Brembo). Am I correct that the early cars had Brembo rotors and that is what this is referring to?

2003-2004 G35 Sport Coupe had Brembo Brakes. Discontinued in 2005 and only carried over to the 350z. In 08, the G37 Sport coupe was introduced with AKEBONO brakes, much larger than the Brembo setup and much cheaper. The 07-08 Sport sedan had standard brake setup, just slightly larger rotors than the base brakes, still no comparison to the Brembo or AKEBONO brakes.

Correct, the '07-08 had slightly larger rotors than the non-sport but they were standard 2-piston calipers.
