I know that some people will politely ask me to GDIAF for posting this thread, but I had to do it! After people have had a chance to view this and respond, maybe a Mod can move this to the 'Wheel/Tire' forum.

So I was bored and thinking of different wheel setups to run on my cars. Everytime I searched for some good sized wheels, Rota kept popping up with surprisingly good sized wheels that I had no idea existed and I'm sure many of you may not be aware of either. These wheels are old news to the Subie and Evo crowds, but I'm making this thread to spread the news to 240 guys now. This way, people can consider something different besides the nearly played out P45R's.

I won't be listing anything smaller than a 17x9. Without further dealy, here's my list of Rota Wheels in good sizes!*

*(some sizes may only be good for rear wheel fitment only)

Rota Boost: Available in 18x9+20, 18x10+20 and 18x10+35

Rota DPT: Available in 17x9+35, 18x9.5+22, 18x9.5+35, 18x10+35 and 18x10+20

Rota G-Force Available in: 18x9+30

Rota Grid Available in: 17x9+12, 17x9.5+15, 18x9.5+15, 18x9.5+20, 18x9.5+38 and 18x10+35

Rota P45R Avilable in: Too many to list in both 17's and 18's!

Rota SVN Available in: 18x10+20

Rota Torque Available in: 18x9.5+20

Only a few of these are available in 4 lug, but I think these 5 lug sizes are worth converting for! Be sure to hunt around when you're shopping because there's lots of different color and prices available. If I missed anything or if there's questions, post it up!

I hope this is helpful to you Rota lovers out there!

EDIT: This thread turned out alot better than I had hoped. Since it has evolved from simply discussing wide Rota's to including other inexpensive wheel brands, I thought I should include some other 4x114.3 lug specific wheels to help us all out...

In the event that someone would rather buy the original versions instead of a replica, would you be so kind as to list what each of these wheels are copying? I'm not familiar with most of them...

the forgery is down right blantant...and its sad because there's still room for originality in the aftermarket wheel industry.

Rota is a parasitic company. instead they should hire some hot industrial designers, switch to high pressure forging. and change their company name and become a real manufacturer.

Thanks alot for your contribution. It makes the thread much more informative. Now people will have a quick resource to refer to when trying to spot out the fake wheels.

I see both sides of the argument on this topic, but this post was purely for the purpose of sharing info. However, people need to be honest about this. If you're buying Rota, yes, you are buying some bootleg, inferior quality chit. Don't try to pass it off as the real thing.

Glad we got the obligatory disclaimer out of the way. Anybody else got questions or comments?

I'm sure someone will fairly quickly. Make a classified ad. Good luck!

This site didn't have some of the good wheel sizes I listed. Sometimes ppl might have to get innovative when shopping for these wheels. I think some of the 10 inch wide wheels are only offered exclusively on certain sites. I could be wrong though. Here was my main resource: http://www.wheeldude.com/catal...5_336

Lookis, that Volk Re30 is georgous!

Oh yeah. I know better than to get into an argument with you! You are an upstanding memeber of this community and a member who's opinion I respect. It's all good!

Mind posting pics of those two wheels you listed? And if there are any other relatively "inexpensive" wheels with good sizes that you'd like ppl to consider, throw 'em up! What's cool is that ya already got one guy in here looking at a legit wheel over the knockoffs! Mission Accomplished!

I've heard you guys mention Courage wheels... I know nothing about them. Can you shed some light?

I love talking about this. I should say tho, before hand that coilovers and the wheel lip to fender spacing is what makes a car look sexy. Budget wheels can be pulled off nicely, and mulsanne drift team ( teddy and cody) pull off budget wheels on a national level.

( it ok to be broke, as long as you have patience and dont rush and buy something corny or unstylish )

This link has the best deals on XD9's ive seen.

18X9.0 is 365$ - these are their budget offering.

http://www.modacar.com/product....html

Gramlights are a nice wheel also...

GramLights 57D Wheel 17x9.0 5x114.3 + 12mm

is 360$ - great deal again...

http://www.vividracing.com/cat....html

Wed sports 7x9.0 5x114.3 + 20mm are 420$ each.

Courage, is actually SSR vienna Courage. which is SSR's answer to the VS-KF its only one wheel not a brand. the brand I think your looking for is Weds...

http://www.weds.co.jp/... weds is the closest competitor to work, ssr, and auto couture.

this is SSR courage

this is vs-kf's

only difference is the line on the spoke.

but expensive, 600 - 700 a wheel.

***

Budget el cheapo wheels, that look great with coilovers include

Hot wheels 168 also deserver respect Zilvia types s*** on them... but ive seen them pulled off nicely and they still appeal to me

all these wheels are 17 x 9 and up. with offsets lower then +20

P.S. Greddy Gravity Gullflame

320$ each 17 x 9 / 18 x 9 and up. iirc

Keskin KT1 18 x 9.5 330$ ( euro! )

and it goes on forever and ever.... centerline wheels are also nice.

after this it gets more expensive but my philosophy is simply to save up and wait....

also

JIC magic J force

these and the gullflames are at a great price. and excellent fitmet

18 x 9.5 for about 325$

( gullflames below )

these wheels are nasty and priced to sell.

MB battles, are regulars but cant forget them

cheap as hell ( 180$ each I think? ) but they're copies of the CST hyper zero's in jdm land.

***

Uras NS-2's are also dope, about 390 each... but wide fitment options.

these wheels R sick

grenades are also dope

about 300 each. straight from jdm land

and thats.. all for nowlots of affordable wheels in 300 - 400 range.

maybe cheaper if your a real deal sniper. or bargain hound

We should have done this a loooong time ago. Create a list of desireably sized and affordable wheels to refer ppl to when they come around with their repetitive 'What wheels look good?' threads...
