It seems oddly coincidental that Kelly Clarkson's new album and the return of the McRib hit the market at the same time.
Are they competitors or are they complementary? She seems more like a Whataburger girl.

Complementary I would guess. While you may like how both Clarkson and McRib Sammiches sound, smell and look (in airbrushed ads, pics or displays), you feel nauseated after physically seeing/eating them.

We have the McRib in here in Japan, but it's not the same as you all get.

They take the processed pork, dip it in the bbq sauce, then top it with mayonnaise and lettuce. What the hell???

One thing I will say about it that's not great is they use too much sauce on them. The reason I like to eat pork is because of the flavor it has, and McDonald's drowns the sandwich in it. I have to use a couple napkins to get it under control most times...

You should try it without any sauce on it. It's actually not half bad. Toss a piece of cheese on it, as well. Onions, cheese and pork (no pickles if no sauce) is yummy.

That's what I'm getting at. I have to reduce the sauce to like 1/8 of what was put on it and it's fine. Since BBQ sauce is basically tomatoes, reduced prune juice and molasses mixed up with other sweet crap, it's no wonder most people don't like it when it's slathered to death.

You might hate Kansas City barbecue. It's slathered and soaked in delicious tomato and molasses-based sauce.

So delicious, and of the regional styles I've tried, it's one of my favorites.

I was referring more to McDonald's bottled version, not really to any particular style... But I prefer mustard-base or dry-rub, personally. :gapteeth:
