How do you reset the instrument cluster maintaiance reminders on a 2011 ex35

It's been a while since I've reset the maintenance reminders on my EX. If I recall correctly on my EX, I believe the maintenance reminders in the instrument cluster cannot be reset unless the engine is actually running. I don't think I was able to change them with the ignition on and the engine off. Give it another try with the engine running.
