Hi I'm new to the forum, but I've had my G35 for years and it's been nothing but solid.

Just recently I've had an issue with no heat and the engine temp getting too high for my comfort level.

I've already "burped" the coolant system and it appears to be a thermostat gone bad. Any idea on how hard it is to replace this $25 part? I don't think it should be that hard, but don't know. Or should I just have the dealer do it for $180?

i heard its not tht hard to install. you have to bleed the coolant. any mechanic shud be able to do it in 15-30 mins. i just bought a new thermostat as well. jus go to ur mechanic n he shud do it for like 40-60 i think

Welcome to NICO!

If you have a shop you trust, then by all means use them...however for such a small job, I'd have the dealer do it and check out other critical components. What year is your sedan?

Its a 2003 - in the title

If I were you when you replace the T-stat...go with one from the 350Z. It opens at 170* instead of 180*.

Bleeding the air from the coolant lines is supposed to be a little difficult for the G. Other than that, it should be just like swapping the T-stat for any other car...not super difficult.
