Replacing the thermostat '96 P/U

What's the easiest, best way of getting at the thermostat housing on these trucks? Remove the fan and shroud and try to get at it from below? It looks like it's behind/below the power steering pump. I found out the hard way it's not where the top radiator hose connects to the intake manifold....

Remove and swing the PS pump out of the way. I didn't have to go under the truck to replace mine. The PS pump has 3 bolts on the front and one in the rear. Once that swings out of the way I think you will find better access to the T-stat.

Thanks, I'll give that a try when I rip back into it this weekend. The truck is NOT liking this hot weather we're having in Florida this week.

Thanks man, that worked. Ran into some other issues, but fingers crossed it's back up and will stay running for a while.
