If your car is an auto, then it shouldn't have the limiter.

Can anyone please tell me if S13 and S14 auto ECU's are interchangeable? Thanks for any info.

Most stock tunes out there are very conservative. If you were to get a standalone and tune it right you'd get good gas mileage... You also wouldn't have to worry about the speed limiter

I know that's a really old post, but thought someone should throw that in. Also, someone mentioned killing the tach signal... They weren't talking about the CAS signal were they? (from the dizzy, not the late 240 transmission CAS) That sounds like it'd be a really bad thing.

Alright, I have a s13 and removed the limiter/governor....Just cut pin wire 32, and pulled the two middle plugs. Bingo.

My question is, is it the same process for the S14? Trying to get one, hopefully will have it in a few weeks. Thats the first thing thats gotta go lol.

I think one of them is a round plug, one is square....its been a while since I was under there, but I looked at the diagrams linked to earlier in the post. It is the two middle ones in a sequence of 1 2 3 4. 2 and 3 get pulled, 1 and 4 stay. Never hit the limit again.

Only thing is if you don't pay attention to your tach, prolly not the best thing to do...not paying attention and you will be pinging redline....definitely not good.

Do I have to unplug the sensors from the trans, or just put a switch on the VSS to ECU wire?

okay so, i was reading this post, and was everyone was agreeing on snipping the #32 wire(green w/ yellow stripes). and then unplugging the two square-ish plugs on the transmission.

NOW people are sayin its the two round-ish plugs, or one round one and one square one. WTF?!

OKAY, i have a 93 s13 HB, 5spd ka24de. what EXACTLY do i need to do?!

You know...I never actually did this to my S14. I just never got around to it or I would have done an article on it.

Nowadays so many people just use the Emance or Enthalpy Rom tunes that most don't need the mod at all.

If you can try it, take pics and give me a brief writeup I'll make it an article and get it posted on the Tech Page...giving you full credit of course.

Deal?

Wow dude this is an old thread. Read back it should tell you EVERYTHING you could possibly need to know.

ECU is under pass. side kick plate infront of the door.

Wire color has been discussed more than you could possibly know. Just look above you.

Infact, just look for my previous posts in this thread.

WOW cut this wire, unplugged these sensors. Just replace your ECU with the same year but make sure its from an automatic trans car, and done. Same for the sohc and the dohc, example you have a 93 dohc 5spd, you put a 93 dohc ecu from an automatic. GOT IT, GOOD, END OF DISCUSSION THIS IS GETTING RETARDED....
