I hate to say it, but I don't think you'll see much improvement from a rear strut bar.

The 'vert is very well braced in between the rear struts. The problem in my opinion is flex in between the front and rear wheels. The 'vert has no roof to keep the body from bending up and down and twisting a bit.

I think a great improvement would be a ladder bar that hooks in ahead of the rear struts and heads forward along the base of the door toward the firewall.

your probably right, but going along with the original question: has anyone installed a rear strut bar on a 'vert? if so, anyone have pics?

There is all ready a ton of bracing between the rear strut towers. An upper strut tower brace (USTB) is not going to make any significant contribution. Remove the rear seat, put the top up and take a look for yourself. I don't even think there's room to add an USTB. I was going to try this a few years ago, but once I saw what was all ready there, I decided it would be a waste of time to even put it on.

Just my opinion.

What Eikon and Dexter said is correct. If you really want some bracing, you can weld a bar behind the back seat under the top well connecting two strut towers. You can buy a cheap eBay strut bar, cut and weld it. But I don't think you will feel the difference though.

I guess you haven't done a "search" there are like 2 or 3 vert's with roll cages and fully functional tops.

maybe ill just incorporate my roll cage to function as a RUSB as well. even if it does nothing, it will at least make me feel a little better.

Going from strut bar -> roll cage is a pretty big jump... And from reading your post, doesn't seem like you'll be tracking the car at all (pure conjecture here :P ), which makes having a roll bar/cage essentially pointless & potentially more dangerous than safer.

In any case, most rear strut bars do not clear the rear firewall area, I've tried a couple different ones, even offset ones. They won't fit w/o trimming.

I've since removed my rear firewall and installed a custom one, so I can run any strut bar I want... of course, it will be purely for cosmetics (which you can't even see really) since there is already factory bracing & I have a roll bar.
