Rear spoilers for the coupe

Postby mcheddadi » Fri Dec 21, 2007 2:31 pm

This is a thread to help you guys decide on a spoiler, if you want one. I've put all the known spoilers for the altima coupe.

Also, I would like your opinions on what type of rear spoiler I should get.
(I'm leaning toward the 1st one)

1st one:

2nd one (the imitation G35 one):

3rd one (stillen's one):

4th one (official nissan one):

5th one (the real g35 one):

6th one (the very first one that came out [ebay one] ):

I think that's all the spoilers there are.

What a great idea to post all the pics, makes it much easier to make a decision.

I went with the Stillen because I think "less is more" when it comes to the coupe although I also like #4 as it trails back a bit more.

First time I've seen all the pics lined up like that, which makes comparison a lot easier. Nice post! I think I'm still diggin' mine the most but a few of those are a VERY close second.
To Each His Own....I like mine!

3.5 CVT w/ Tech Package, Stillen Front Lip, Stillen Exhaust, Stillen Roof Wing, Stillen Hood Dampers, Injen Intake, Eibach Pro-Kit Springs, 20" Akuza Creations wrapped w/ Nitto Invos, 5% tint on all windows, 38% tint full windshield, overlays all around, color matched front grill, debadged rear, two 10" subs, LED interiors and exterior, Hoen bulbs in fogs to match factory HID's, turn signal/running light mods front and back.

Stillen all the way.

I also like the "Imitation G35" one... but since the car is already clowned as a 'poor man's G35'... I'll go with the Stillen.

Thank you for the great post.

I am leaning toward the original Nissan spoiler and the real G35's.

I went with the Stillen cause it also has that rear window spoiler that make the rear window appear much smaller. I like the look.....

Brian, Nice work with your coupe. I like what you did with it. How do you feel about powdercoating the emblems a different color. I'm badgeless now but am thinking about going with a color scheme via pin-striping and colored badges.

Not sure about that, I really like the blackout look. If I only could have found some all black rims that I liked in the right offset, I wouldn't have the chrome rims. I did think about painting the "Nissan" inside my front emblem since it's now all black...

Because the stock rear end on the AC is so pronounced - I believe any spoiler should follow the philosophy of "less is more" , in other words

Or none at all... the Stillen roof spoiler does the trick; noting on the deck for me.

Can anyone shed some light on the "official" nissan spoiler? Is this something that nissan is now offering as an option or can you order this from the parts dept?
Thanks, Bruce.

At the end of the day, it's a personal choice.

For me, I like Stillen's the most. It seems to fit the best and appears to be the most subtle.

None of these spoilers are an option from Nissan. All of these are aftermarket spoilers. But as Shift_2.5s pointed out, it's all about personal preference. personally, I love the G35 spoiler. IMO, it accentuates the coupes lines. There are those that don't agree with my opinion and would rather go with a more subtle look such as the stillen. Your choice Bruce

By the way, if that blue one with the G35 spolier is from Courtesy Nissan in Tampa, FL, that one was there when I bought my white one, but I liked the white one better only because I just wanted the stock tires and wheels, not the bigger ones the blue one had on it.

Mr. Music and BigDan

Both of you mentioned just the Stillen roof spoiler with no deck spoiler. That's the setup that I'm interested in. Do either of you have any pics of the spoiler on your car?? It would be awesome if I could see what one looks like without a spoiler.

Thanks!!

The 4th one is the official one from Nissan. It's not available in the USA yet, but in Canada it's available.

http://nissan.ca/en/vehicles/s...erior

it's listed as an accessory.

If anyone has the stillen roof spoiler, some pics would be nice!

I've seen some at the dealership with the #4 spoiler mounted on them and they weren't used. I'm not saying they were Nissan Factory Spoilers, but they are an option offered at Bankston Nissan Lewisville, TX

I guess I should have specified...none of these spoilers are factory from Nissan within the USA.

I just built my AC on that website and for a 3.5SE coupe with CVT, Premium and tech package, the total bill was $42k canadian...

Mine was already on the car when I saw it at the dealership. I think they charged $400 on the sticker. Mine does not have the third light in the spoiler, however the spoiler sits low enough for the third light that is in the window to be fully viewed from behind.

What's sad is that if that price was quoted 7 or 8 years ago, then I would have chocked it up to the Canadian Loonie being worth less than an U.S. Dollar. However, since our economy is so in the toliet, that statement isn't true anymore. I guess they are just gouged with that price. Oh well, at least they have free health care. Maybe since they don't have to worry about paying the premiums on health insurance, they can afford the extra 14k on the car, lol.

I want something more agressive. There was a photoshop of the altima with the wide body kit. It was a reddish color. The spoiler on that was similar to the last one the 'ebay' one but the ends bent down and kind of matched the nice curves of the back. That's sexy if it ever came out. Or if a wide body kit did one can only hope

I have that spoiler and it is the same style as the G35 spoiler, but not as wide. The rear deck of the Altima Coupe is a little narrower than the G35 deck and the spoiler is a couple of inches shorter in length. My neighbor has a 2004 G35 Coupe and I can visually see that mine is not as wide across. I would say about 5 inches maybe, but I never measured.

Just have to say the sixth spoiler (Ebay one) looks a lot like the spoiler i have on my little chevy cobalt.

What do you guys think about a spoiler like this for the coupe.

I think it flows with the rear angled taillights and the trunk since the spoiler got a single "pillar" to attach to the trunk.
