I'm finding it hilarious that most of the stuff you're doing I'm doing at the same time... lol

Send an email to [email protected] or send her a PM (nissangirl74). She handles all of that stuff.

Upon reading a bit into the rating system for gear oils, I've noticed that GL-5 is incompatible with our manual transmissions and transfer cases. Unfortunately I have been unable to find any GL-4 specific oil locally, the only one close is this one:

Is it suitable for use in the trans and transfer case or do I need to drop $$ on a full syn like Amsoil?

You don't need full syn, but you do need GL-4. I know that every auto store around here has GL-4 compatible gear oils from O' Reilly's, Mobil 1, Royal Purple etc. You probably won't find any cheap, or generic GL-4 (besides O' Reilly's brand) but it shouldn't be hard to find. The GL-4 fluids are needed in order to protect the brass synchros, plain and simple. I run AMSOIL because its a product I trust and its cheaper than MOTUL.

The Coastal brand I got at Autozone says it's for GL-3, GL-4 and GL-5 applications and it was cheap, maybe $12. See the photo in my post.

That's the one I went looking for and they didn't have any like that on the shelf. Going to check around town this afternoon and see what I can find.
