The RB25 crank bolt doesn't work??I believe the head is either 27 or 28mm if that helps any.

Actually I think the KA crank bolt should be the same. I don't know about length, but thickness it should be.

The RB25 has a 27 mm (1-1/16") head and I would say the bolt is probably an M12x1.5? Maybe bigger. It's about 3" long. I'd just buy a bunch of different sizes from lowes and test fit them. Make sure you buy a high grade steel though. Don't skimp out on it and get some Chinese made fasteners that aren't able to handle the torque.

BUMP!

Stric, did you ever find out what size crank pulley bolt is required for the rb26 crank shaft?

I just dropped my **** off at the builders and the RB25 bolt is a good deal smaller... lol

haha nope just used 26 rods on the 25 crank. At that time I couldn't find a 26 crank for less than like $750...Decided the .1L wasn't worth that much.

But if anyone has one laying around, and has a set of thread gauges you mind measuring the pitch and diameter of the bolt then the length? I mean I work for a shop who can get any bolt known t man, I just need to know the size lol.

rb26dett r32, r33, r34 crank bolt part# 12309-05U00, did not come up on the part search at courtesy parts, nissanparts.org. Could ask RHDjapan if they could get one shipped over. I will be in the same boat soon

Sure, was resonding from my phone

bolt head = 30mmbolt head thickness = 13mm

Complete length of bolt w/head = 102mmLenth of bolt without head = 99mm

Thread pitch is 18x1.5mm (thickness of bolt measured on threads is exactly 0.7 inchs)

Threading goes up 27mm of the boltThe thickness of the smooth portion of the neck of the bolt = 17mm thick

WasherThickness = 12mmWidth = 43mmWidth of center opening = 18mm

Hope that helps you guys

oh yeah, I was going to respond to this Ricky is the man!

I ordered my bolt from Fastenal they got it to me the next day. Didn't even charge me for it either since it was a special order part they just gave it to me? I was very happy, went and test fitted it in my rb26 crank and yeah she fits no problem!!! which is huge.

EDIT! for those of you doing a 26 crank in 25 block, and using a 25 crank pulley like I did, the stock 26 crank bolt length is too long. I had to use 12mm of extra washers so I was able to properly secure my 25 crank pulley on the 26 shaft.

So for rb26 crank bolt for an rb26 it seems its.

M18x1.5 30mm Head13mm thickness of head112mm Length of bolt with head99mm length of bolt without head

Washer12mm thick43mm wide18mm wide opening

For 25 crank pulley with 26 crank

Same stats just I'd go with 14 mm shorter bolt to be safe.

are the 25 and 26 crank bolt washers the same size?

I don't know, I used my 25 washer and machined it out.. drilling was no option that metal is hard as fawk. It might just be washer size differences.

Stric make sure your belts line up, when I had my bolt fully pressed on there was still a gap between the back of the pulley and timing belt cover.

The 26 washer might be thicker.

EDIT: they have to be the same thickness because the the two washer fastenel gave me to equal 12mm were the same thickness as my 25 washer.

Maybe my bolt was longer than I asked for? I never mic'ed it.
