I have called and searched and cannot find one. I even emailed a few places in New Zealand that was advertising them in stock, but they actually had none. Does anyone know where I could get one? I already talked to Ricky. He said they had none and wasn't sure when hey would get more.

I assume he meant that he already talked to Ricky at Raw Brokerage.

Gents -

What about these? I just got these from the molder. The mold isn't polished yet, it will be in a week or so, and you will be able to see through them "like water". Note, once again: these aren't finished parts, just proofs from the mold. Note also that the mold will also make the flat, RB20/26/30 clear cam gear covers. ;) They fit the mating part with masking tape wrapped around the bolts to take up the clearance in the bushings, so I'm happy with the hole alignment!

You may want to give me around 3 weeks or so. I'll have to get the mold polished, get a molding machine schedules, do the run, get them packaged up, get them delivered here, et cetera. Also, I'll be needing your full name and address! ;)

Chad B -

I received your PM, and I can't respond, since evidently I haven't posted here enough! :gapteeth:

In short, yes and yes. It will be easier to chat with me by my email address. Please contact me there.

To answer your great question: You all should know that Polycarbonate will yellow over time, but only when exposed to lengthy periods of sunlight. If you keep your hoods on your cars, it won't be a problem! Lots of guys have had these on their (other) cars for years with no yellowing.

Hey Rob, apparently I can't PM either due to my noobness. Can you shoot me some info or get on your list to purchase this thing? Thanks.

Nick, Paul, Chad B.,

I scrapped the mold for the RB parts in the post above - bad design work!

I have solids-modeled the next round of the part. We have also made a 3-D printed version of the file for fit testing. It fit very nicely on the engine we have here, nicer than the stamped stock part does! I sent it to the gents at Raw Brokerage for a fitting without me staring over their shoulder, and they can back with two thumbs up. So that part of the mold is ready to start. Sorry for the delays - my error and it won't be happening again.

I am also making a mold the the Blacktop/Silvertop 4AG Toyota engines at the same time, in the same piece of steel as the RB cover mold. It would be great to know someone in the States that has one of these engines for fit checking. Otherwise, my vendor in Australia will get the 3-D printed version of that solids-model file in the mail one day. When everyone is nodding their heads in unison, Zaklee will get rocking and rolling on getting this mold up and making parts.

Yes, I am. The mold base has been purchased, and the holes cut for the cavities. (There will be two cavities, the other is for the Toyota 20V Blacktop/Silvertop cam gear covers.) The cooling passages need to be put in the mold, as well as the ejection pins. It has been a slow and onerous process, much to my chagrin.
Hang in there, I'll be posting here long before they'll be for sale!

Rob - Are you going to be dealing these through Ricky at RB?

If he's ok with it, might not be a bad idea (unless you're interested in becoming a vendor).

Interested as well, since we have a RB in the zpowersteering.com S30 demo car.

It is going about as well as can be expected. My block of aluminum is in the CNC mill, and getting worked on as we speak, I am happy to say. Once, done and fitted into the mold base, I'll have to get it shipped up here (30 miles), and you don't want to use your pickup truck to carry this - it'll bend it in half. The mold will get in line (short) at the mold polisher. Once done, it will get sent to the molder where it will get in line, again, hopefully not that long. Once I have a few, I will ship them to a few guys here as freebies, as long as I get in trade some high-quality pictures of their engine bay with the clear cam gear cover on it. Those pictures will go on my site, THEN, my "door will be open" as far as doing business with everyone. That's not too bad, eh? Don't ask me to put a time on it!
