i had the rb25 in a s14 but then i bought a new shell and swapped everything over into the new one. i have 2 electric fans on the radiator and a thermostat in the lower radiator hose.

the fans have 2 wires each and the thermo has 1 wire and another ground wire.

what would be the easiest way to hook all these up? i searched already and most of the other post have relays and switches and stuff i dont need.

i just want the fans to kick on automatically as soon as the thermo gets hot enough. i forgot how it was spliced together on the other s14 i had but i know the plug right behind the passenger headlight was used (probably for power)

wiring is not my forte so if anyone could help, id appreciate it

thanks

first 2 wires are from the thermo in the lower radiator hose

then you have the plugs which were spliced into the fans/thermo

3rd are the 2 cables from the first fan

4th are the 2 cables from the second fan

You need to use relays to power the fans. They draw an assload of amperage and trying to run that current through a thermostat switch will burn it out. Think about picking up a Dif fan controller or something similar.

can i use one of the stock relays or buy another one??

so then id have fans, the thermo switch, relay.

i want them to kick on automatically without a controller. it worked somehow in my other s14. a relay might have been used actually... i dont have a picture from the old bay unfortunately

I wonder if u could used the altima fans in s14 write up for this.. they hook up to the factory relays.. I run mine straight to a switch cause atm I work to much for me to drive my car a lot but when i turn them on I can hear the rpms drop a bit while its idling..

Any relay will work as long as it is rated for 30A. I spent the $10 at O'Reilly's and got a universal one.

i got that from spal. even though i already have the thermo switch, this kit came with it. they also have really simple instructions on how to set it up

I had one FAL fan on mine. it melted fuse holders (without blowing fuses) and wiring. about 5 of them of varying sizes melted until i ended up with a large car audio blade type fused distribution block. i also burnt through a SPAL controller, which coincidentally they won't replace once they change models. i cannot stress enough that you need to relay isolate, and if possible draw off a power distribution block (run a chink of wire off the alternator up to wherever you mount it) so you won't burn through wiring and fuse holders like i did.

My power distribution block is like this one:

I think i even have an extra somewhere.
