Need some help diagnosing an issue with our RB, here's the symptoms:

Takes 4 or 5 tries to start

Once started, if you lightly touch the throttle, it stumbles (as if it's going to stall). If you mash the throttle, however, it will rev nicely.

Settles into a good idle, BUT once it reaches operating temperature, it starts rapidly cycling between high and low idle (with the high being around 2500 rpm and low being 600 or less).

After a minute or two of this, it settles back into a nice idle.

Any ideas? :wtf2:

Have you checked for vacuum leaks? It sounds like unmetered air is entering the system but it is able to run without hunting during cold idle since the ECU is dumping fuel into the cold engine. I'd agree with checking the above and would add the IACV under the intake manifold and the hose and electrical plug connections to it.

There are a number of things that can cause this issue, you'll need to do all your basics like boost/vac leak check, fuel pressure, timing, ecu codes. Your also gonna have to check all your sensors like tps, ect, maf... Easiest way is with a PFC and commander or Nissan data consult.

Also it would help to know what your setup is? Completely stock? What aftermarket parts?

Ever figure out what this issue was? I'm currently having the same problem and it's a new development as of the last few days after running fine for almost 6 months... :/

I would lol but their website has disappeared. It's looking like it may be a coil issue for me but I'd still like to get Consult working. I'm going to take it to the Nissan dealer here and see if they can make their Consult handheld reader connect to it.

Just wanted to let you know my issue was a coil pack! #5 cylinder was dead. I'm putting new splitfires in tomorrow!
