Am I understanding correctly that you own a Sentra? If so, you are wasting your time looking at RB motors. You do understand that you own a front wheel drive car and RB motors are RWD setups right?

To answer your question.. yes, the RB26 AWD trans does mate easily to a RB25det engine.

Do you realize it's incredibly expensive and difficult to make the 240 work with the AWD system right? it's been done.. and if I remember correctly, someone was putting out a kit for it.. but man.. that's gonna cost you a TON of money. If you had that much money, I suspect you'd do other things with it... just a theory.

It's not polite to call them "trannys" we are supposed to call them "gender misaligned."

A "drag" race is supposed to be a test of acceleration and not who wears the nicest dress and panty hose...

Touchy subject for ya Mad? Hits a little close to home maybe? :inoutgay: When you wear a dress for the 1/4 mile are you dragging in drag??

Can you give me an idea of what your overall budget is for the car? Are you thinking $5k or $25k? or somewhere in the middle? With that in mind we should be able to give you some more realistic ideas of what you can and can't do within that budget.

If your planning for $5k you'll want to go RB25 with the standard 5 spd transmission. To do a quality install for $5k you'll need some good luck. Forget AWD... just put it out of your mind.

You need to visit the RB forum to learn more. Here is a link to the RB FAQ's thread: rb20det-vs-rb25det-vs-rb26dett-faq-t135400.html

I know the RB20 had both rwd and awd applications. I think the RB25 was RWD only and the RB26 was AWD only. I've been out of the RB game for about 3 years now so my memory is a little rusty.

Based on your lack of knowledge on the topic, my suggestion for you would be to find a car that is already swapped and running. Check our classifieds pages, RB swapped cars come up for sale often.

There are a few AWD RB25s in some of the R34 chassis, mostly 4 doors. Not sure on the R33, though.

But, yeah, dude. Eikon is on the money. You need to study up on what you'd be getting yourself into before you try to go slapping an RB into an S chassis.

Honestly, though...what's quite surprising is with as "easy" (and I use that word loosely) to swap an RB into an S chassis, why hasn't it been done more often over here???

Thats agood question. I guess people are lazy. I have only seen one awd240 and it was something that caught my eyes. But thats why I joined this to learn from you guys. There is mostly rb20s in 240(from what i've seen) but your right if its easy then why arent there more out there.

Lazy Japanese people? Are friggan kidding me? These people work themselves to death for little to no pay, no overtime, get home late, barely get time to see their kids...if that's lazy, I would hate to see the life of a hard working person.

An AWD 240 is more trouble/money than it's really worth, to be honest. Yeah, you'd have novelty, but after that wears off, you just spent well over $10K on a car that's probably worth about $1000(no, that's not a typo...)

I drove a pink Skyline, do you honestly think wearing a dress scares me? I'm a "spring" by the way. :inoutgay:

Just to throw this out there. 1993 and up RB26-GT-R had different clutch setups. Early is push style, late is pull style. The slave cylinder, throw out bearing, fork, pivot, and pressure plate are different. Bell housing too. Although the bosses for push are on the late transmissions.

Just a little bit right?

I always make fun of the non GT-R Skylines, but I actually have an RB25 of my own in my garage right now.

Its an automatic, all wheel drive RB25. It has a similar oil pan to a RB26, front diff built in, auto trans with a transfercase on the rear end. The price was so right, I had to buy it. One day I might build a fast, automatic straight line car. I have most of the parts and knowledge in how to do it, its just a matter of actually spending the money. http://gtrusa.blogspot.com/2010/04/i-bo ... 25det.html

Here is my 8 seconds of automatic - RB30 powered inspiration. http://gtrusa.blogspot.com/2010/03/8-se ... -from.html

I have tuned a couple RB25's for drift cars, and with the 71.7 mm stroke, and the variable cam timing on the intake, they come up really quick.

Speaking of which, in the Fast and Furious 3, the RB26 powered Mustang soundtrack, was actually an RB25 powered 240.

I guess this trans is the 401 or something, and there is a 403 which is stronger. The 1 is good for about 800 hp, the 3 to about 1k.

Its about 6k to build it up, which is still about 1/2 the cost of say a Holinger sequential. Although recently I did find a ...I think it was a Lenco for an RB with the transfercase adaptors for around $9k. I still like the auto for quick point and shoot, straight line, no boost drop, fast 1/4 mile times.

Speaking of transmissions for point and shoot drag stuff...
