Hey guys,

I messed up
I had a weekend project where I was going to replace my power steering high pressure hose because it was leaking.
While waiting for some parts I decided to clean the throttle body which included disconnecting the air intake, some hoses, two connectors and taking off the box with the MAF sensor inside.
I put it all back together (Which I think correctly)

I started on the high pressure hose which included disconnecting three hoses, one for coolant.

Anyway, the problem is that now everything is back together, My truck is throwing a check engine soon (probably from one of the connectors) but more importantly the RPMs are out of wack. It will steadily rise then drop like its gasping for air. Dipping low then rising while idling.

Any ideas?

It seems after driving it that the engine may be running rich?
The RPMs are out of wack at idle but driving it seems to stabilize it a bit but it still has a sporadic issue of a slight up and down?

I just tried to Relearn the IAC Valve but it will not work. Ever since I put the air intake back on after cleaning the throttle body with a rag the truck's RPM's only go up and down while in nuetral or park. When I start driving it seems to go away and level out a bit. It's been over 24 hours now with no sign of it getting better.
The service manual I went off of said if the rpms don't fix itself when disconnecting the IAC sensor during the relearn then the procedure will not work.

Any crazy ideas are welcomed lol

Have you disconnected the battery for a while (overnight is best) to reset the ECU?

The relearn eventually worked! Thank you.

Do you think leaving the battery disconnected overnight will helped reset the check engine code as well?
The first time I did it, I left it off for 10 minutes but the code still shows.

Yes, it should have wiped every learn-able / stored bit of data.
