Hi All,

Just bought a 2013 SL AWD Rogue and trying to figure out if I need a 'special' cable to run my Ipod. It is a first generation and when I plug it into the USB it does nothing. Does not even acknowledge there is a device plugged in. Using a USB stick works with no issue so I do know the USB port is active.

Thanks in advance!!

I think it may be designed to only work with certain generations of iPod/iPhone (or, possible, certain versions of iOS). Being a 1st gen, I'd guess that's probably the issue. It works fine with my iPhone 5.

What is kind-of annoying, though, is that when I plug it up it automatically starts playing a song from my library...usually it's not even from one of my playlists (i.e. if it starts off playing George Jones (Country playlist) and I use the steering wheel control to skip, the next song might be from Phineas & Ferb (Kids playlist)). Anyone know how to disable the auto-play (I've looked through the setup and didn't see anything).

You didn't specify which head unit is installed in your Rogue. Specs vary depending on which one you have.

Connecting iPod®:
The iPod® outlet connector is located in the center console. Connect the cable *1 as illustrated, and then connect the other end of
the cable to your iPod®*2 . Your vehicle is equipped with the specialized cable for connecting the iPod® to your vehicle audio unit. The battery of your iPod® is charged while it is connected to the vehicle if the iPod® supports charging via a FireWire® connection.

When the connection is complete, a NISSAN logo will be displayed on the iPod® and an iPod® icon on the audio display illuminates. While connecting the iPod® to the vehicle, the iPod® can only be operated by the vehicle audio controls.

To disconnect the cable from the vehicle outlet, fully depress the center connector button to unlatch the connector and pull the connector straight out of the outlet. To disconnect the cable from the iPod®, fully depress the side connector buttons and pull the iPod® connector straight out of the iPod®.

I have the FM-AM-SAT RADIO WITH COMPACT DISC (CD) PLAYER (Type B) SAA3425. I have read the requirements and belive I fit under the specification of iPod Classic (version 1.1.1 or later). So can I just use the cable that comes with the IPOD, if so that is not working or do I require a special cable as I have read on a few forums.
You also highlighted 'Your vehicle is equipped with the specialized cable for connecting the iPod® to your vehicle audio unit.'

I did not receive a specialized cable with my Rogue nor have I been able to locate one to purchase.

Thanks for you help!
