I have been a long time Sirius subscriber. With the purchase my new 37, it'll come with XM. I am putting my Sirius kit in my wife's car. Is it possible to combine my Sirius subscription with my G37 XM subscription instead of paying seperatly? I know they merged so I am hoping yes. I sent a question into both of them over a week ago with no response. I am hoping someone else out there in "G" land has run into this.

I don't know much about their merger, but would they both offer the same channels and everything? I would think there is no difference...

There is a difference

The wife has XM in her Altima and I have Sirius in my G

They still have different toll free numbers. I get scrolling stock quotes on Sirius CNBC channel 129 but cannot see stock quote on XM CNBC channel 127 when I'm in her Altima. No one in customer service was ever able to explain why there is a difference between XM CNBC and Sirius CNBC.
There is a difference between the XM package and the Sirius package.
If you want Howard Stern on XM they charge extra

I may end up picking up a cheap XM radio for my wife.. I like Stern, but listen to the music more. Besides, I think he is leaving next year anyway..

I'm resurrecting this thread as a reminder to everybody that has been here awhile and as info for newcomers who might not know: Don't pay XM what they ask, you can do better.
The trial subscription on my FX35 was expiring in two days plus I needed to cancel on the 08 G37 or I would be automatically billed for the old car and my home subscription. Told them I was cancelling everything as too expensive. They shot me a deal for half off plus a 2 subscription discount and no transfer fee to the new vehicle. With a refund on the 3 weeks remaining on the old subscriptions I got a year on both home and car for approx $150.
I enjoy the XM in car and home but I enjoy it a whole lot more at that price! :chuckle:

You can do this with most subscription based services. I told Comcast I was going to Direct TV - they cut my bill by 30% and added High Def with sports package and a DVR receiver (last year when I got my new TV.) Every one of these companies has a so-called "retention department." I did the same thing with Sirius last year when the renewal was up. Told them I couldn't afford it and to cancel my 2 radios. They made me one heck of a deal. Bottom line, never hurts to ask (or threaten to leave!) lol

Stern only has around 20 shows left until his contract expiration.
I suppose he'll renew but may go to a three live show a week
